    Default Cargo Trailer

What is everyone's opinion who has a trailer, whether or not the Rt-622 is worth the money?

I think everyone that has one loves them but they are pricey. I have an all metal motorcycle trailer that weighs less than the 622 and works great. I don't even know it's back there. It was around $1200 delivered...

I bought mine used for $2500 in like new condition. I don't have any experience with a bike or trike pulling a trailer but I am very happy I got the RT-622. I've never had more stuff that it would hold when camping or traveling and you just don't know it's there when riding. Fuel mileage did reduce by 2-3 mpg, I tend to run the RPM's higher when I'm pulling it. Overall I am very satisfied with it and I'm glad I sought one out.

Love my RT-622. Do your homework before purchase. Many great features plus it is designed to match the RT.
Note: Warranty on RT is void if using any other than OEM trailer hitch. ?? PP 72 in parts catalog upper left hand corner--yellow check mark.

Use the BRP hitch and connectors, but don't waste you money on a 622. Even at $2500, you can get a great trailer, and have $1000 of travel money left over.

I think the 622 is a very nice trailer, but decided to go with an Aluma MCT XL trailer. My Aluma was wired for 5-wire round plug... pulled out factory wire, rewired for 4-wire with 4-square plug to match my BRP hitch and wiring.

I bought my '10 RT-622 used. If I could only get it at full retail, I'd have gotten one like CaptBlack's. So I'd go with the 622, but don't pay retail.

I found a 622 used and I have a couple of thousand miles on it so far this year. Very nice. A friend of mine has the Aluma trailer as well and it is very nice too although it does bounce slightly when not loaded.

It really depends on what you are willing to spend. I use mine a lot so I chose to get the 622.

We love our 622. I re-wired/custom wired ours though do it has amber turn signals and white reverse lights and it all works like it should. You can only do that with the older ones though as the newer ones don't have the holes and bulbs in the turn and reverse positions.

Is this really just a discussion about the cost?
I would be far more interested in finding out if the 622 (or an alternative choice) tows and better, than the other options...
If it's just about price: you can ship stuff all over the place, for some pretty small dollars.

Default Question for those who have/both

We have a 622. Because of the odd interior layout, I am wondering if anyone with both a 622 and an alumatrailerXL has determined which holds more? Cruzrjoe?

    Default Worth the price!

I bought a trailer to match my new 2013 Spyder. It tows behind so well I forget it's there. I'm sure there are others that are equally nice but I'm glad I bought mine to match my bike.

I got it here - it's gone up a little in $ in two years. I do use the BRP hitch and used the pole harness to adapt to the 4 pin wires on the trailer.

Take a look at Kompact Kamp. We go the Kadet. 19 cu ft of space, weighs 140 lbs, tows great. Best of all, $1400, but we had a few extra things done.

I love my 622. If I would have not gotten it I would have gone with a Mini Trailer USA one.

BRP could engrave this on the bike itself, but in the US, Federal law says that a company cannot void a warranty just because someone uses non-OEM equipment. We bought a used 2010 RT-622 don't know how many miles the PO put on it, but I believe it has the original tires on it. We put just shy of 16000 miles on it in 71 days this summer and the tires still look good. We were traveling 2up and carrying all the stuff to camp along the route (tent, etc). I admit to being jealous of some of the folks with the pop-ups just because of the ease of set-up and tear-down, but the trailer worked great. On the other hand, Murphybrown has the trailer from hell and you should also read the threads about her experience.
