Check engine light
Light came on a couple of days ago and was intermittent. Came and went. No limp mode and was running great. Dropped by the dealer to see if it coded and to get the codes red. Very quick diagnosis was the engine kill switch is faulty. I use it all the time to turn the engine off. $420 part alone under warranty. What triggered this? It happened right after I washed the bike. FYI I am not a fare weather rider either. I ride in any wet weather. I notice when it gets cold the signals stick sometimes as well. This is a 2012 RTS. Anyone having these issues? Anything preventative that can be done? Let me know. Thank everyone.

Don't know..!!
but I spray all controls with WD-40 and wipe them down. Waterproofs some and helps fading. We have seen kill switches going bad and may just be one of those faulty ones..glad you got it before it failed out there somewhere..!!

I've never had a problem with the kill switch on any of my Spyders and I use it every time I start and shut it off. I do have friends who have had to have theirs replaced, some more than once.
