using radio after ignition off
I know right after you turn the ignition off if you hold down the hazard button the radio will come on and play. My question is how do you turn it off without turning the key back on. I hope someone knows.

The way it was described to me was to immediately push and hold the MODE button for a few seconds after shutting down to turn the radio on. Turn the Warning Flashers on and off to turn the radio off.

Officially I read on a BRP document somewhere. I just looked and could not find it. So from memory. To turn the radio on with the ignition off. Immediately after turning the ignition key off press and hold the mode button for 4 seconds. To turn radio off. Turn the ignition switch to the on position and then to the off position. As discovered by Finless. He seemed perturbed the last time he was not credited. Pressing the hazard warning flasher button twice was easier way to turn the radio off.
As for turning the radio on by pressing and holding the hazard warning button after turning off the ignition switch is a new one to me. Does this actually work?

As found it the DO's and DON'T'S
Listen to the radio without having the key turned-on or engine running: (Provided by szohar)
Immediately press and hold the MODE button for a few seconds after turning the engine off. The radio will start-up. To turn if off, just turn the Hazard Warning lights on and then off. (Provided by billybovine)

Another way to turn off the radio is to...
just wait the four hours. The radio will either turn off by itself, or the battery will be dead
Is it Friday yet? ... Oh yeah, I forgot. I'm retired

Looks to me like the radio turn on procedure after shut down is actually putting the whole machine into an "accessories' mode. There is no such position on the ignition switch so that is how BRP does it. You will notice your dash components are alive and I haven't checked all that is alive. Maybe the rear 12 volt socket is alive too.

Try plugging something into it, and let us know if it works...

I have tried this several times to keep the radio on and can not make it work, “hold the mode button for a few seconds after turning the key off”

There was another post on this - I know because I started it - doesn't seem to be a way to do it with 2020's.

OK Stupid Question Time....
Way back in the olden days when cars trucks & motorcycles had points and condensers there were two
positions on the ignition switch, if you wanted to listen to the radio you had to turn the key to the left
if you turned it to the right that is how you start the vehicle but if you just turned enough to have the radio play
and not start then you would burn up the points in the distributor...... not good HOWEVER, since todays
vehicles do not have points to burn up, what is wrong with just turning on the ignition to listen to the radio ????
Yea I know you are powering up other stuff but the battery drain is going to be small.
