I just removed the old peg and used the same holes and I used 1/4" X 1"flat head ss screw and nylocknuts. I countersunk the top.

That's what I was wondering. I wanted the floorboards so I could stretch out more and if you can't find the brake pedal why are you riding.

Bigger is better..!!
it's a comfort thing. If you come from road or off road bikes you have a small pedal to keep it out of the way. Don't want it hangging or dragging along. On cruisers there is no need. Harley's and such come with large pedals. Those coming from those types are used to them. Not that hard to understand..really...and those that like the smaller pedals can keep them no questions asked...
