    Default iPhone/iPod Integration Cable

I bought my 2010 RT-S used and it didn't come with the integration cable for the trunk. Is there a good place to purchase one besides the dealer? Thanks!

If you mean the cable that let's you control the I pod from the Mode button/Display screen
Make sure it's the one for a 2010 RT They changed the lead for later RT Models this was something to do with a 12v power supply
the 2010 lead has a small box connected the later ones don't

If its just to connect the Audio output 3.5mm Lead to the connection this lead is the same for all models

Sorry if this is not correct but someone will correct me and point you in the right direction

Thanks. I wonder if they even make that cable for the 2010 anymore. Haven't found much with a Google search. What I've found says 2013 and prior. Does anyone else know for sure if the 2010 is different?

Thanks, Bob. It's crazy that they want $70 for that cable. It's just a multipin to DIN connector, but BRP had to make it proprietary.

So to understand a little. The box is the charging circuit. ipods have a unique USB connection for charging. Depending on the resistance on the "data" pins the ipod decide how fast it will charge (what the charger is capable of). This has been true since the iPod (not the nano) 3rd gen and later.

Now the radio is not made by BRP. It is made by Radio Sound. The early radios needed the box in the cable to change the voltage from 12V to 5V and the sensing circuitry to charge the iPod. The new radios now have those electronics in the radio! For the new radios the cable is much cheaper as there is no box in it.

    Hope that helps,

    Default iPad

Thanks for the info, Bob. Does anyone know if the 30 pin cable will work with an iPad (iPad 2 with that same connection) or is it just iPods and iPhones?

Yes it works with the iPad. At least the first gen iPad anyway as I hooked my Wifes up.
