Moderately Priced Rain Gear
I'm doing a lengthy trip in August with some friends who are more serious riders than I. They told me that they ride rain or shine, so I'm looking for some decent rain gear. Any suggestions or advice? As always, I appreciate the feedback.

For a one-piece suit: TourMaster!
For a two-pice combination: Frog Toggs!

Tried a bunch of different rain gear during my Harley days, Frogg Toggs are still my go to rain gear. Packs nice and small and does a good job of keeping you dry.

Most of the textiles are supposed to be water resistant. If you drive for hours in a downpour the weaknesses will rear their ugly heads.
Actually rain gear--like Frogg Toggs is probably a good card to have in the deck. Sized to put over the gear you have on. That way you will have a couple protective layers.
Don't forget waterproof gloves. Leather when saturated gets cold, clammy, and a fun buster on a wet ride.

Tour Master has always made a quality product and at this price, it's a steal.

I had a First Gear 2-piece set that I gave to my brother when I bought a Can-Am 1-piece suit. Both work really well.

Again, thanks foe the input. Any opinions on material type? Are some hotter than others?

Go to their rain gear page.
Look up the Xelement rain suits.
Buy one of the $59/$60 orange/black or green/black rain suits. They are of really good quality equal to suits twice the price.

Road through two tremendous thunderstorms on a trip through the VA and WV mountains on 18 June . . . and my Frogg Toggs kept me bone dry. They fold up nicely and don't take too much space, too.

Frogg Toggs for us. Bought them at Wally world sporting dept. Slip on quickly over your gear, take up little space and work great.

Buying cheaper raingear, is about like buying cheaper toilet paper...
There WILL come a time; when you'll wish that you had bought more protection!

+1 on the Frogg Toggs. Bought at Cabela's on sale for $40. Kept us real dry coming home from Spyderfest a couple of years ago.

I've been looking at the Frog Toggs. They have several choices. Is the general two-piece suit a good option?

I bought mine directly from them... I figured that there would be better control over what I was getting!

Are you sure that's the same set? They are only $21 on Amazon. They don't have the stirrup on the pants. Is that a big deal?

Do you see anything larger than a small? That is the only size I see for that price. That might be why they are so cheap. I bought XL. Ours don't have the stirrups either.
I see on the other colors they have different sizes. Looks like a good deal to me.

Rented a bike recently on a trip and wanted some inexpensive rain gear. Went to Walmart and they had FrogToggs Lite's in the Sporting Goods for $20. Never had to use them so don't know how they would hold up to riding, but they were cheap and easy to find.
