I have a calci large and while I can only compare it to the stock short thing that came with my phantom I really like it. It seems to be well designed and fit was perfect. I may put adjustable madstad brackets Ive seen on it eventually to try and get it a little higher.

Now that an idea, put the madstad brackets on the stock touring screen with the laminar lip.

Love it For me this works much better.

IMHO this is better looking and suits the Spyder more than CHAD and even though it is smaller it performs soooo much better.

Also here in Australia the Madstad system is hundreds of dollars cheaper than CHAD.
Me too, a high for the MadStad. I have both the brackets and their shield.
I had the stock, BRP Sport Touring, CalSci (which was good), but most of the time it was better without a windshield until the MadStad combo. If I still had my CalSci, I might have mounted that on the brackets, but the combo works better than I ever expected or hoped.

And yes, much less expensive, too.

    Default CalSci Question?

Has anyone ridden through the rain with the CalSci? I wonder if the vent will let water through to the rider? Its getting pretty cold here in NC and I really to need to order something. Any feedback would be appreciated, I plan to call CalSci today also.

When I had it, I rode in some rain, but not a lot - mostly desert here. I never noticed any issues with the vent letting rain through or bugs for that matter.

Yes, I have ridden many miles through the rain with my Calsci shield. I wondered the same thing beforehand, but it turned out to be a non-issue. For some reason, perhaps the shape of the shield itself, very little rain comes through the vent hole. It is an excellent shield.

I have owned three windshields---The BRP sports shield, the CALSCI XL, and the CHAD. The CHAD is far superior to any of the others. Yes, you will get some rain through the CALSCI vent, you will need to place a rag over your dash. May depend on your speed.

I'm hoping to see a big response on this poll. If the original poster could edit and include the RoboBrkt that would be cool. I want a new screen but lean one direction then the other. I'm 6'1" with a 30" inseam with the BRP touring screen. It sucks and I don't think the ultra will work either. Plus its pricey for what you get. My wife is concerned about the metal bars on the sliders. But frankly, that's the screen I think will do the job. I'm looking at the product and workmanship... and if its made in the USA.

Has there been another poll on windscreen wannabe's? Ryders who want a screen but due to finances or indecision (ahem) haven't ordered the product. Which way are they leaning?

    Thanks

    .
I have the CalSci for spring/summer/fall and the CHAD for winter. I have been in the rain on both. There is no noticeable rain that comes through the vent.

Forrest, I read in an earlier post that you had a custom made Rifle. The pricing looks good on their stocks. I assume the customs are not far from it. How are you enjoying the screen? How's the windnoise? Are they DOT certified?

I have a Cee Bailey. The wind buffeting is so bad that any time I have more than 10 miles to ride, I ride my Road King! The Corbin looks like it has the right answer - bring the shield (and wind pocket) closer to the rider, but $1500? Not on MY budget!

No wind buffeting? I'm interested. I have a Cee Bailey and it beats my helmet to death!

Haven't gotten one yet because I want to see one in person before purchasing one. Made a $500.00 mistake with my Piaggio don't need to do that again.

    Default I have 3 windshields

    I am 5’ 7". I own 3 windshields.
I have the original windshield that came with the 08 SM5. Looks good but does nothing for protection.

I also have the Evo III from F1. I like it very much. I think it looks good on the Spyder. When the second shield is up, it takes away from the looks a little. Protection? It does a nice job of getting the wind out of my face and throat when the second shield is up. The windshield also gives my hands some protection.

I also have the C.H.A.D. I think it takes away from the looks of the Spyder. I think it is ugly. As far as function goes, very nice protection. A noticeable difference compared to the Evo III. But that being said, the C.H.A.D does not protect the hands. The difficult part for me? Getting past the looks. I’m going to give it another try this winter.

+1 . I don't think it's the prettiest shield on the block though.

I loved my F4 windshield on my Harley, but never could get a response from them when I emailed them repeatedly that it had cracked.
