Traded my 2012 RT LIMITED (white) in for a 2014 RT LIMITED Black Currant Friday Evening then installed my tan comfort seat which I like, some don't like the color combination.
Do have a couple of questions.
It calls for mid grade gas, anyone using premium gas? Which I used on the 2012.
Anyone have the Baja Ron sway bar installed on the 2014, had one on the 2012 and it made a difference, does the 14 need the upgrade?
That's a real Beauty!
I run 93 in mine...
It calls for at least 91.
I'm still trying to decide on the RonBar issue... the new bikes handle so much better than the old ones did.
I am undecided about the "Ron Bar". I spoke to the factory guys during the tour about my Spyder doing just fine in a turn. Then it dives into the turn. I was told to change the shocks to the new Fox shocks that are now out. Would like to ride someone's 14RT that has the "Ron Bar". Tom
Baloo is my name. Spyders are my game. Well, it's a doo-bah-dee-doo, yes, it's a doo-bah-dee-doo, I mean a doo-bee, doo-bee, doo-bee, doo-bee, doo-bee-dee-doo. And, well, now. Ha ha! What have we here?
on your 2014 RT Limited....it's an AWESOME machine! We did the same thing, i.e. traded our 2012 RT L for a 2014 RT L. Great decision. I do have to say our 2012 RT L was a very good and reliable machine.....however, the 2014 new powertrain is great!
BTW...I think that your color combo looks great! I use 91 octane premium....
I put on the BajaRon bar right away...love the handling of the bike, but I have had the new BajaRon bar from day 1...so no way to compare for you.
So far, the farkles on the 2014 RT L include:
HMT 3rd Brake Light w/ Dual Converter
Helmet Guardian dual locks
LED's on mirrors
SENA Bluetooth
Driver's seat backrest
BajaRon's High Performance Sway Bar
BajaRon's Heim Joint Links
Bumpskid
Netting in all compartments
SPY 5000m Alarm
FIAMM 72112 Freeway Blaster Horn
Smoothspyder Drive Belt Tensioner
NBV Highway Brackets with Widow Pegs
RT Stainless Steel KOTT Grilles
Next weekend, the tri axis handlebars go on.....almost got it the way I want it! (but you never know what you will want to continue to add! )

I have run 89 octane for 13500 miles already with great performance and mileage in 35 to 38 mpg range. I have the Ron sway bar and found it necessary to cope with crosswinds at higher speeds
on the new Spyder. I usually run 93 when I can get it even though it only recommends 91. It's pennies more per gallon and it runs fine on it. I had about 2000 miles when I put the Ron bar on. Although I only see a marginal difference, it is there. I guess it depends on how you want to fine tune your suspension and how aggressive you ride.
the color combination looks great. Use the best gas you have these machines get better mileage so won't add to your expenses. See how it rydes then you decide if you need more. Just so you know no manufacturer goes top of the line..leaves no room for the aftermarket guys...
