    Default Wave

I wave to all, 2 or 3 wheel, If they don't wave back they are snobs. I just wave at all riders 2 or 3. Every rider deserves a wave.

Has anyone ever figured out the average age of spyder drivers. That might have something to do with our propensity to wave

I have driven a Jeep for so long and I have done the Jeep wave all of these years that I find myself waving at Jeeps when I am on the Spyder.

Both the missus & me are 60+.I remember the two wheel raised fist salute of around 1972, when I was riding a BSA 650 Lightning. Fast as all get out. In those days, I was single and rode like the young whippersnappers that I see now. When they get to be our age, they will to be on a . Saw one in NYC about 3 weeks ago around 7:30 pm at about 86th & West End Ave. Looked like an RS. The arachnids are now invading the cities!!

44 years of age for me. Never really interested in a 2 wheeler. My wife will NOT ride on the back of a 2 wheeler. Started looking at Spyders spring of 2013 while at the Ski doo dealer. Bought my St-L just before Thankgiving. So far we love it.

I wave to everyone on a bike unless I am going through a sharp corner. I also find that Most Harley riders wave, maybe about 80 to 85% of them.

Actual age . . . or mental age? For some of us, there is a BIG difference!

    . . . and I wave at anyone who rides . . . because it is simply a greeting . . .

I agree with SPYD3R and hold up three fingers. But I use the first three and hold the pinkie down with my thumb.

Maybe it is just a Texas thing... or a Southern thing... at least in the rural parts.....not so much in the cities..
If you are in your truck or car, and have a hand at the top of the wheel, Ya raise a finger to oncoming traffic to say "hey"... try not to use the middle finger... bad form...Chances are ya know that person, even if you don't recognize the car.. or more likely the truck they are in...
Doesn't matter if the other person doesn't respond...You made a friendly gesture.

In a small town country setting, ya wave to everyone, or they will come to ya latter and ask if you are OK....

It is not a big deal to acknowledge someone... and it doesn't take much effort.... it is REALLY not a big deal.

Looks easy enough for pool-shooters. The right-handed ones, anyway.

    1. Extend hand with all fingers straight out, and spread apart. (.000000021693 seconds)
    2. Touch tip of forefinger to tip of thumb. (.00000000000000000000000021693 seconds)

Waving at scooters, especially small ones is a gas! Almost all of them do a double take, kinda like "hey, this guy thinks I'm kool too! WTF!" HA Ha

Actually it takes more fearless "guts" to ride a scooter than anything else. Some of them might have a minimum amount of engine displacement, but let me tell you, you gotta be really tough to ride one more than just to the store and back. I had a Honda 50. Rode it from Pasadena to Yosemite (about 550 miles--I guess). That was one VERY difficult journey. Then when I high-sided on it, the damage to my body was just as real as if I had been riding a 5,000 cc HD. Scooter riders deserve a lot more respect than almost any other bikers.

Those small wheels don't take kindly to bumps and potholes...
    They ARE a tough ride!
But; the folks who start on them often graduate to larger, more roadworthy "arsenals" over time...
