I use Turtle wax bug and tar remover. The best thing I have found to clean my 09 Phantom. It leaves no streaks and waxing needed after cleaning.

You mean all the black plastic? And other than soap and water? 303 Aerospace Protectant is good stuff. Doesn't leave an oily film like Armor All does.

No, he is referring to the matt finished paint jobs. They look great but are a bear to maintain, you have to be careful on cleaning or you can accidently polish an area which will look like a permanents blemish. The only cure that I know of is to have a new matt finish top coat applied by a body shop.

    Default Matte finish

The Chemical Guys have soap and detailer for the satin or matte finish that work very good. Matte finish is not as hard to take care of as they make it sound

I've never used anything other than Meguiars Quick Detailing Mist and microfiber towels. Works like gang busters (I clean it after, or before every ride............so the crud doesn't get time to build up).

I also believe that the new 2014 RTL in magnesium has a matte finish that requires special cleaning.

That stuff is awesome. Bought another bottle last week. A simple cleanng only requires windex though. I have an RS-S also, and have had several matte back vehicles and helmets.

    Just sayin'............
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally

    Just sayin'............

I was worried about that too, so I applied some in a inconspicuous place first, couldn't see much difference, maybe just a little bit darker, but still has the matte finish.

Gee wiz, I didn't pay that much for knee replacement operation! This Doctor is having a laugh isn't he😷 That would be well over $200 South Pacific Peso's (a.k.a the Australian Dollar) plus postage. 👎

Plus 2 for the Pledge. I use it all the time on my 11 RS and it works great. Maintains the matt finish without any sheen.

I find the matte finish extremely easy and inexpensive to care for. No need to spend time waxing, detailing, polishing etc. No need to spend money on all the newest and greatest cleaners and polishes. A one time small investment for a spray bottle and package of microfiber cloths is all that is needed. Fill the spray bottle with H2O, spray liberally and clean and dry with microfibers. Make sure to use clean cloths, washing them as needed. If on the road, rinse them out after cleaning the bike. They will be dry by morning.....
