O ring on oil dipstick - 2013 ST Limited
Model: 2013 ST limited
there is an O ring on the dipstick shown as part #02-65 which seats on at the top of threads on dipstick shown as part #02-64. both part numbers are shown in the can am parts motorcycle parts catalog
MY QUESTION IS: when replacing the dipstick to check oil level should the O ring be on dipstick?

Here's the thing..!!
It makes little difference. That Oring makes it hard to measure. I remove it to make my measure. Your oil level only needs to be on the stick full is a comfort /safety zone for folks that don't check there oil regularly...

Make sure you check the oil at operating temp. do not check oil cold it will lead to overfilling the oil
I leave it on just cause it should be on the dipstick all the time. just screw into until lightly tight and remove and check.
