Its Not bad, but its not a comfortable position for me... funny thing is on long cruises, I actuallyl rest my entire leg out on the plastic cowling and that feels wonderful...

I bought a Honda cruiser back in 2004. I could not get used to the foot forward riding position no matter what I tried. Hips would ache so bad I could scream. Sold it. The peg/floorboard position on my RT is perfect for me.
Take your time...
It's rough spending a couple of hundred bucks; only to find out that it wasn't quite what you wanted.
Why not try looking around a bit, and see if you can find a bike with them installed?
Oh! Be cautious about putting any weight on those plastic "wings"; they're not built to take much weight!
Lamont's are adjustable; that might help you somewhat...

Rich, I have done the exact same simulation. And I get the same aches. Still on the fence about getting some pegs.
My only relief seems to be when the wife starts driving and I sit in the passenger seat. I get to extend my legs then.
Curious to see how everyone else feels about the pegs.

I won't add pegs.
But I'm built pretty much, so that there's no extra leg to worry about!
There's no doubt that they're a big help to folks who need to stretch out!
I tried using the air deflectors at first just to see how it felt, and had some serious pain. After installing the NBV's, I can actually rest my feet up there, and it feels fine. Before we put the Rivco floorboards on, I used the Highway pegs about 80% of the time. I couldn't stand keeping my feet on the stock footpegs. With the Floorboards, I now use the pegs about 30%-40% of the time, but the combination or the boards and NBV's have really resolved almost all my comfort issues.
Of either floorboards or highway pegs. May be in my mind but I like to be close to the controls with no limiting objects (brake pedal and shifter with boards). But then I avoid crusing the freeways as much as possible. I get a chuckle when I am on the freeway and a crotch rocket comes by and the driver is clearly in a comfort dilema or the Harley rider that already looks like he hit the windsheild of a car. Confirms my comfort. There are many adjustable pegs Lamont having one of the best and worth trying...good luck..!!

Though adjustable, I find them comfortable where Lamant installed them on my '14 RTS: the balls of my feet rest on the peg while my heels remain on the floorboard. Or when I wish to stretch my legs further, I place my heels on the pegs. Cool! As comfortable as the Sealfloorboards on my '12 RT.

If you're running the stock RS foot pegs only, I'd recommend the rivco floorboards. They're $350 and well worth it IMHO. My RS had highway pegs when I purchased it and I added the boards and the combination was very nice. The more you can continually change your position the more comfortable you'll be

My wheel base is short so I don't need a lot of leg room, still I added lamonts pegs for the longer trips i usually take. They allow me to change position with my legs and if I need to I can just lay my leg stright out resting it on the peg. Works fine for me. After a long ride any change of leg position helps a lot. I am happy with the NVB's.
You might want to take aa look at Seal Floorboards. At about 32", they are long enough to be both floorboards and Highway pegs. Very easy installation.
I can't do highway pegs they also make my hips hurt. If I need to move around I put my feet on the passenger pegs

Thats the way I do it also, but found that I wanted more space for the foot when extended so I rigged up these "temporary" boards on my "11 and somehow they seemed to have migrated to the '14. The pics show before and after on the '11 but on the '14, which has floorboards, I can rest my heel on the floorboard and toe on bottom of the footrest or the whole foot, whichever is more comfortable at the moment. I'm hoping I can find something nicer at Spyderfest to replace these boards; thats what they are made of.

I've had highway pegs on my 2011 since shortly after I got it. I find that I can put my feet flat on the peg, like it's designed for, or I can hook my heels over the front part of the peg and let me feet face forward, or I can let the back of my leg just above my ankle rest on the front part of the peg and extend my legs all the way out. Overall, I'm reasonably happy with them, and they're a lot better than having no peg at all.

The odd "forward tilt" of the oem floorboards only looks odd...
It functions perfectly!
On my 2010 with I.S.C.I. floorboards; I never realized how much time I spent riding with only my toes touching...
With the '14; I'm flatfooted, and happy!
I have had the seal floorboards on both my 09 RS and my 12 RTS and I would not be without them. I can move my feet forward and back whenever I want and in several positions. On long trips, with my wife riding shotgun, when I move my feet up to the forward position she can move hers to the back of the floorboards and give her legs a different position as well.

Thanks for the input. Both John and I were hoping that--since I will have 1K invested in the OEM's.

Holding your feet up but not really relaxing the leg/hip all the way isn't going to give you the same feeling as an actual highway peg. I would try sitting on someone's spyder who has a set of pegs to see. There will be plenty of them around at spyderfest.
