    Default Don't know..!!

But interesting question. From what I see here RT's don't get as good a mileage as the RS/RSS/GS but the ST is the in between model and it will be nice to know which way it leans..our RS averages 33 mpg low 27 high 38 mpg. Some will depend on mods to exhaust air systems and ryding conditions...

The two cylinder Rotax seems to get average 30 mpg depending on a million different factors. All of my 's, past and present, seem to fall in place there.

New 2014 ST-S with just over 1,000 miles now, our results are consistent with most others: 30 mpg overall with 27-28 when hammering and 32 when doing freeway-only at below 70 mph.

    Char,
That's a pretty decent set of numbers, for the 998s.

I've never checked my ST's mileage.

I have a car that gets 9-11 mpg, so what's the point of checking?

    Default Mileage

Wow, I am surprised that everyone seems to be achieving close to or over 30 mpg! I have about 3k miles on my '13 ST-S and I am lucky to get 22 mpg (+/-). What am I doing wrong or different? I was told (mainly from other owners & from forums) to shift at about 5k rpm's.

Default It has not been improving

I went from upper 20's to mid 20's and it is holding there. It has been a consitant 24 to 25 as of late. I have not been running it hard and have been shifting between 6000 & 6500 rpms. I am also running 92/93 octane and I even tried a lower octane (89) on 1 tank, same results.

Finally checked the mileage on my 2013 RT last week on a 150 mile ride, was just over 34. Have had the latest updates, backbone and gas cap barely warm on an 80 degree ride. So far so good.

And to add...if you can afford $20K to $30K for a motorcycle, why are you worried about gas mileage?

If you paid more than $30K you have other issues.

    Default Don't have a clue

I don't have a clue, I just fill it up, ride it and then fill it up again. If it's getting low and I pass a petrol station I pull in and top up the tank.

I agree with Denman, its good to know how far one can go on a fill up. In some parts you don't especially know where your next fill up will be. In the Midwest Towns can be few and far between.

Along these lines, How much fuel are you able to get in the tank? Our fuel mileage after the ECM reflash is averaging 32 mpg. When the low fuel light comes on it holds right at 5 gallons.

Default Fuel mileage is good lately

Dont know what changed, but I went from consistant mid 20,s to 30+. I am not doing anything different and now the last 4 tanks have been 30 to 32. I am certainly not going to complain about that.
