I use the waterproof version of Deltran's Battery Tender Junior. (Our garage can get a bit 'nautical" at times...)
I haven't moved the fuse over to position 7 yet in the new bike; but i sure will be doing so before it's time for storage next Winter!
Deltran sells the adapter plug also; I bought mine when I bought the Tender...

I use the junior , it came with a direct to battery connector, cig, connector and a USN connector .
Removed left panel, fished wire up through center button on dash, bright a rubber grommet to cover hole at auto zone. This way I connect directly , or use USB connector for charging or running anything. I brought a 36 in extension when I ran it up to hole, forgot to mention. Did not trust cig in trunk.

I use the Deltran battery tender plus. You can purchase the cigarette lighter adapter for about $8.00

    Default Why move the fuse?

Why are we moving a fuse from position 6 to position 7?

To make the trunk 12v connector hot all the time. If left on 6 only hot when key is on.

As for a Battery Tender I have a Black & Decker however the next one will be a combination charger/conditioner

    To wfdfirch3
You have to move the fuse because one position is a switched position and the other is hot all the time. The switch position is off when the ignition is turned off, so you can not charge thru this when the trike is off.

That is true for 2013 and 2014, but not earlier. The 2010-2012 RTs were hot all the time, with no option.

And this is why I rate this forum so highly, I would have never got this sort of info from New Zealand forums and would have spent all winter wondering why my battery was not charging thro the 12v socket.
Although I have now noticed that it does tell you that in the user manual, you can't read everything.

    Default Battery Conditioner warning

I,m sure most of you know this but for us newbies it is a reminder to make sure if your using a Battery Tender don't leave it hooked up to the battery unless the unit is powered up. Last Saturday I went for a long ride and upon my return put the spyder in the garage plugged in the tender as I always do using the trunk 12v. plug. Then last Tuesday was going to take it out and get some gas and the battery was dead volt meter read 9.3 volts. That is when I found the power strip switch was off. 24 hours later with the power back on Spyder started back up without any problems.

I use the Xtreme Dual station battery charger. Works like a champ and lets you know what percentage of charge you have on the battery.

So I can't just hook up the tender overnight? I'm confused here.

Yes you can leave it plugged as long as you want.....days, weeks months. I think what he/she was saying is to make sure you plug it to the outlet.
