Micro-Start PPS (Emergency Battery) Test Results
OK so i got one of those Micro-start PPS emergency batteries the anti gravity ones, actually the XP-3 model, i got it about a week ago, charged it completely up and put it in the back of my Spyder in its bag (This thing is smaller and lighter than my Ipad).
Today i disconnected the battery to my 2010 Chevrolet Suburban, and then connected this XP-3 to the cables to see if it would start. It started my Suburban 4 times in a row with no problem, I did not want to try anymore because I did not want to damage my Suburban, the XP-3 lights showed that it was still fully charged.
I wanted this to be able to have a battery to jump start my Spyder in case of emergency ................. Well this little sucker works like a charm. I bet i could start 20 Spyders before it runs out of power.
Go to Amazon.com and google Anti Gravity Battery and they have two styles like this the XP-1 and XP-3, i think the XP-1 just has more attachments, the XP-3 has the Jumper Cables, a USB cable with 3 different outputs and a nice soft carrying case.
It is a lithium battery so you can charge it and it will hold that charge for a year or better and it appears to be the safest way to carry an extra power supply.
It comes with a car charger and a wall Charger ($110.00 AND UP CHECK EBAY OR AMAZON FOR FREE SHIPPING)
Update: fully recharged in 40 minutes with wall plug and now it heads back into its stoage place in the Spyder.

Have used it to recharge my phone, tablet, and start the spyder. Also, if you use BRP's custom bags. It fits nicely when placed in the left compartment before putting the bag in. fwiw

can you jump start the spyder with this through your 12-volt port on the bike?
Hi Joe:
This is awesome and didn't know it was even available but now I do thanks to you.
Hey- can you hook this up some how to jump start the Spyder via the 12-volt port in the trunk or does it have to be connected to the Spyder's battery posts?
Thanks!

Cannot boost through the 12V accessories port. I am guessing you have 2012 or older Spyder. In that case you can't push 150 to 200 amp through a 3 amp fuse and a 22 gauge wire.

No this needs to be at the battery for best results you may be able to use the battery terminal posts under the seat on an older RT, don't know where they are on a ST or a RS, someone correct me if i am wrong.

Picked this one up on Amazon.ca (couldn't get your brand in Canada) it's essentially the same and works great. I started my car and SUV 4 times each with no problem in -10c temperatures!

Delayed
I ordered my XP3 last week, directly from Anti-Gravity. I got an order confirmation but did not get shipping notice, so I fired off an email to find out what's up. They promptly replied saying they are out of stock and are waiting for a part to make more. They will likely ship next week.
Wouldn't you know it! You hooligans beat me to it and cleaned them out!

You can purchase ones on e bay uk from about £45 - £60 Not the same make but ones manufactured by FLOUREON - Multi-Function Car Jump Starter Battery Charger Power Bank New
These are manufactured in China and may well be the same but badged as Anti-Gravity for the USA Market
Re this statement from Anti-Gravity - Our regular Antigravity Batteries are made in the USA, but the Micro-Start was made overseas. We had to because no one in the USA could help us with the circuit board and battery cells we needed to make it function as intended.”

Micro Start report
Some co-workers had doubts about the micro start being able to work due to the small size. I have the micro gravity xp1 and we decided to put it to the test. We unhooked the battery on a Toyoda Tacoma V-6 and a Nissan Altima 2.5 four. (the Nissan was mine). We started the Tacoma 11 times and didn't want to damage the starter so we went to the Altima and proceeded to start it 8 times (like i said, it is mine so didn't take any chances with the starter ). I am sold on it. It was still showing 3 lights out of five on the charge indicator. My co workers couldn't believe it. I can't say anything about the other brands, I've looked at some on the net and have no comment on those. I can say the Anti Gravity Micro Start is very well made and has a feel of quality to it. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for your input, i agree and the XP-3 is basically the same battery but with different outputs on it ( it does not have a laptop port).
