I took a short 50 mile hop today, through the canyon, up to the super slab, back through the foothills and then home. In the canyon I was going about 50 and suddenly, out of nowhere, came a swarm of bees. I ducked my head and bravely plowed right through them, slaughtering many of their tribe. Thankful to ATGAT, none of their missle stingers found my flesh.
When I parked my Spyder in my garage, I promptly retrieved my spray can of Plexus and counted the splats as I erased the bee carcasses from my Spyder. I murdered 57 bees. ...and I am a better man for doing so.
How was your Ryde today?

Dan was that the biggest elimination of bee's you ever done or is that none of our beeswax, None the less I am jealous, I have been with out a bike for 2 month and waiting for a new 2014 rt ltd in April. I want to RIDE.
Road for about an hour , felt great! Was dying from cabin fever! Put on my First Gear and was toasty ! Finally got up to the mid forties in Michigan , and snow was off the main roads . Will ride tomorrow , but we'd and thurs. Back to the 20's ):
I'm going for a ryde on Thursday the 13th to the dealership for th 2013-9 ECM update. It's about an 60 mile round trip mostly on freeway and
there is a local run this Saturday the 15th on local roads. Both should be fun.
Yesterday, just a run out to the base to use the track (walking), pick up some wine and back home. I did one of the backroads home and got a wild hair. I hit the straight and race shifted up to 95 mph. Then realized that that was a dumb move on my part since it's a country road with critters about. I backed down to 60 and hoped the critters wearing badges weren't about. Will ride to our club meeting tonight.

Spent some of the day cleaning things(debugging) from a three day road trip. Didn't stay clean very long tho. One night ride made sure of that but, a spyder needs its daily alotment of bugs. Doesn't it?
Identify what you have control over and find peace with what you don't.
I needed gas this morning. So I went to the gas station. I got lost on the way home and .... Well the long story made short .... I ended back up at the gas station 2.5 hours later because I STILL needed gas.

I just did about a 25 mile ride down to the store (the long way) and of course 35 miles to get back.

I use any excuse I can to take the Spyder to the store
We have had great weather here this year so I have been able to ride all year [ but we need the snow here on the west coast for water]

Glad you came out of the bee swarm ok. That happened to me in 1976 or so. I learned a lesson about riding down the road with my jacket open. A bunch of bees when down my t-shirt and I had to pull over quickly and beat them to death. Yep! I got stung a few times.

Take it with you... PLEASE!
We took the 260 mile round trip to the dealer to get the hitch installed this weekend , Rained the whole time , but we also wanted to try out the new all weather gear we bought , With her heated liner and gloves the Boss said it was just like riding in the summer as she felt like she was in a warm bubble ! If she's happy I'm Happy. Just getting prepared for our Coast to Coast Hwy. 20 trip.
We were in the land of Fruit & Nuts over the weekend and we enjoyed some really nice riding. We rode from the Bay Area down to Ventura County and then back home.
