I did a Helibar riser convert during the week on my 2012 RSS and it took about 3 hours, easiy to do if you remove all top plastic to find where the wires are zippy tied to the frame,
so no its not hard, but there are many fine threads in here to show how its all done, just use the search box and type in "handlebar risers" or "helibars" or whatever brand your installing

I assume you mean this one :L Just found instructions on the back on how to fit it so looks fairly easy But for the size of it I can't see it making much difference It only cost about £15 so not too fussed about it

    Default it is easy

getting to it is the hard part. i wouldn't bother with it. there are much easier/better risers. they do however, change the look of the bike. small price to pay for the comfort, in my opinion.

    Hi Shane,

Having done a fair bit of research on this before taking the cop out of just buying an ST, I think you have four options here:

    1. The BRP 1" riser. For- cheap, against- 1"!
    2. Buy and fit ST or RT bars. For- huge change that will save your back/neck, against- how much!!!, might look a bit out of place.
    3. The plethora of bar riser adapters where you clamp on to the existing bars, move your grips/controls up and back and then saw off your original bars. For, cheap, easy, 4" of rise/recline with no re-wiring (easing the zip-ties a bit) or 7" with longer throttle cable, against- you have to saw off your bars, so no going back, a bit drastic?
    4. Hellibars. For- about the same as the BRP in terms of difficulty, but with 4" rise/recline, against- not as cheap £300-350 incl delivery and duty, but reversible if you either change your mind or buy another machine and want to carry them over.

    I hope that helps.

    Eric
