Just got my backrest. Installed it how the diagram said. Had problems pushing it down in the seat m when finally got it this is what happens. Anyone have this same thing?
You have the incorrect backrest. That part number is for the "Comfort Seat", not the standard "Production Seat". It has the wrong mounting bracket which is causing your issue with the seat. The Comfort Seat sits back two inches more than the standard seat.
Alberts46 called it. He gets the .

Called up and spoke to the parts guy. After a few mins of him telling me that they only make one type and that mine is not supposed have one he finally found it and is sending it to me. Thank you all for the help. Love this site.
Someone didn't want to loose any nuts or bolts to the Spyder black hole!!
Glad you figured it out and getting the right one ordered.
The first time I changed a seat we lost one of the spacers down in the black hole. BRP could have made their catalog much easier by saying that the Grey Seat/backrest matches the stock RTS two toned seat, the black is for the Limited and the others are color matched and obvious. Or if they had only printed a picture I would have known from the get go that I needed a grey seat and backrest.

That was smart, Ann! I used a rag to plug the hole in the back . . . and ended up with a nut down one of the other holes! I had to put some tape on the end of a coat hanger to get it out!

Glad to hear that you got the problem solved. Amazing how much confusion has been generated by the 47 combinations of seats and backrests. Also, I guess we should not assume that the parts people know what is going on.
