I buy DVDs from Amazon or eBay and watch them on this PC with a 27inch HD extra wide monitor.
Works for me! 240 bucks buys a lot of DVDs!

Sorry but I have to say the American version of Being Human really sucks compared to the original British production.

    Default Don't Watch

Anything on the networks is not my "cup of tea". The only "network" broadcasts I watch are sports, and then only on DVR so I don't have to watch the commercials. Network broadcasts are only there to put you in front of commercials. Have you noticed that recently they don't even tell you what they are advertising to keep you hooked in until the show you the logo at the end. Thank goodness for HBO. And Music of course.

There was a British version of Being Human???

I would say that i'm an avid Sci Fi fan in both book and TV form. I have to say that just because I don't get into it now doesn't mean that I won't necessarily later on. Some of my favorite Sci Fi shows (Serenity/Firefly, Falling skies, etc.) were discovered by me after the 1st season (in the case of Serenity/Firefly, after the show was cancelled). I fear more likely, that this will be more of a "Star Trek Enterprise" for me...loved all of the TV Star Trek iterations (Star Trek, TNG, DS9, Voyager)...but could never embrace Star Trek Enterprise (The prequel tv show).

Then again, i've been told that i'm the only sci fi fan who is not a fan of the British show Doctor Who...

Wow. When we were there 1980-83 I think it was somewhere around $40 US. Back then there was no DVD or VHS. I was shooting 35mm film in my video camera. I did thoroughly enjoy British comedies and the wife watched Emerdale Farm, Coronation Street and some other day time shows. I also enjoyed snooker, dart tournaments, and what I consider the forerunner of all music competition shows, Eurovision. Then there were the military tatoos. And I'm not talking about the body kind.

Almost Human is a great show. I have watched every episode. It is humorous more than anything else. I like the characters as well as the actors who portray them. As to Sleepy Hollow that follows it - totally sucks.

I don't know how much BRP is paying for the exposure they are being robbed. A quick one second drive by or a parked unit with a quick look. Their money would be better spent somewhere else. Maybe more interaction with its riders. Their best advertising is word of mouth from owners to the public (especially at gas stops).

Looks like ratings are good, but Fox may be canceling the show at the end of the season.

"Almost Human" and "Being Human" are 2 different shows.

As far as the show... It's OK. If it's on while I'm surfing, I'll usually stop there, but I wouldn't get bummed if I missed it. Not like the "Big Bang Theory" We're addicted to that one...

    Default Almost Human

The wife and I both watch. The DVR captures it for us. With my PTSD I find it interesting that the Android brings out healing qualities in the hero....

80-83...Mildenhall or Lakenheath ( or neither!). EUROVISION has been regarded as a bit of a joke for years in the UK!! No VHS? I definitely had a VHS VCR in 1980! I also had one of the first NICAM models a couple of years later.

How's that socialism working out for ya?

Dunno....we haven't had a socialist government since Wilson in the 70s.....Blair wasn't a socialist! A very slightly left wing Conservative perhaps...Oh! He was a liar too!! :-)

Don't know what you mean, Bob! May be on some of the European satellite channels there's some raunchy 'n rude stuff. But I wouldn't know, not having a TV!!

    Well, Fox pulled the plug

'Almost Human' entirely canceled by Fox

"Fox is pulling the plug on Almost Human. The robot cop drama will not return for a second season.

Almost Human starred Karl Urban and Michael Ealy as two cops, at least one a robot, who fought crime in the future. The freshman drama struggled in the ratings on Monday nights, where the last few episodes averaged about 5.6 million viewers and a mere 1.5 rating among adults 18-49 in the overnight numbers. The somewhat similarly premised CBS freshman drama series Intelligence, which stars Josh Holloway as a crime fighter with a cyber-wired brain, is still on the bubble for a renewal after likewise struggling on Mondays this season.

The decision came down on the same day Almost Human executive producer J.J. Abrams announced the cast for one of his other sci-fi projects — Star Wars: Episode VII."

I tried to get into it on several episodes. Even though I may not have been a loyal watcher, it is still a little sad to know the Spyder will have one less means of exposure.

Bummer. I liked it. I don't like realistic type shows...I want the escape from reality when I watch TV. That one had just enough sci-fi to keep me.

I loved the show. There had been rumors that it might not be renewed so I wasn't surprised when they pulled the plug. I am disappointed however. At least the last episode ended on a good note and left nothing hanging.

While I like Karl Urban as an actor, the program looked dorky in it's previews; never watched it. Certainly wouldn't watch any program based on what vehicle they featured in it.
