    Default fuel gauge

I had the fuel gauge of my instrument cluster go out, doesn't show fuel level and gas pump symbol is on, indicating fuel is low when tank is full. Would this be a problem with a sensor?

I can't help with an answer but i will tell you that it is always better if you tell us what year and model Spyder you have, is it the analog fuel gauge that went out or the digital (the analog is the round one).

It very likely could be a failure of the fuel pump/sending unit, or a damaged wire.

Must be electrical, Check your fuse box or take it to your dealer.

    Default Little checking..!!

check fuses, the wires from tank sending unit and if both are good, as stated take it to dealer to see if it is the sending unit or cluster. Should all be under warranty...

I am with Scotty. It has to be the sending unit or a damaged wire or loose connector. It cannot be a fuse. If it was, the Cluster would be dead as well.

I have the same bike so would be interested in what you find?

Did you have any of the bike apart for any mods? Just wondering if something might have come disconnected?

No, no work on the spyder recently. I just took it on a brief run when the weather warmed up enough to take a ride. I start the thing up, oops shows no gas in tank when I knew I still had 3/4s of a tank. I took it to a gas station, only took 1.5 gallons to fill. Is checking the sending unit easy to do?

If you have done no mods or anything else that could be at fault, take it back to the dealer for repair. Should be fully covered by warranty. Getting to the sending unit is not easy.

Burn off some gas first, the tank would need to be pulled to get to the sending unit I believe.

Hopefully just a wire or fuse though.
