    Default 2011 RTS Battery Tender

    Put my battery charger on thru the battery tender didn't seem to be charging. So bought a new charger thinking old one was bad. It don't seem to be charging ether. Any ideas? Worked fine last year.

    Might be a stupid question but did you check that the wires are still connected to the battery terminal? Also check the inline fuse .

    Default Don't know..!!

    some chargers and tenders cut off when desired voltage is reached. Some dead batteries don't take a charge. Don't know what we are looking at but a voltage tester will clear it up...

    If the battery is too low, the Battery Tender won't charge it. Check the voltage with a multimeter, and charge with a conventional low amp/trickle charger (not a maintainer with a safety circuit) or jump sart and let the magneto charge it enough for the Tender to work if it is real low. Also check the connections at the battery (not the jump start connections) to see that they are clean and tight. Check the rear frame ground (negative jump start terminal under the seat) to see that it is tight. A battery with a bad connection won't charge properly.
