you can fuse it and connect it directly to the battery, that way when you get to where your going just un plug yourself and get off the bike. i did that on my wing and my BMW

On the 2013 the battery is in the front trunk so you need a really long cord.

having the battery up front poses some problem if you heated garment has a short supply cord. We hooked ours directly to the battery with the cables that came with our heated liners. They came with a fuse inline. We keep the plugs under the seat and hang them out the side when needed. In your case you may need to add wire so as to be able to route the cables back. I like to keep the plugs out so if we get off and forget to unplug they slip apart without damaging anything...should be fairly simple..good luck..!!
