Installing third brake light
I purchased the brake light and dual converter from Custom Dynamics. The instructions that came with the unit were helpful but incomplete. After removing the fender trim the instructions say to look for the the tail light connector, unplug it and plug in the new connection. However, the tail light connector was no where to be found. After some checking I removed the panel the holds the license and there behind the right side tail light was the connector. I followed the rest of the instructions to connect the new light. It was difficult to feed the wire guide tool. I removed the right side speaker. This made it very easy to feed the wire from the HMT brake light wire, complete the connection, reinstall the speaker, tail light and all the panels. Total time spent was about two hours. This was my first attempt at adding mods to my 2012 RT Limited.
The light works great and is very bright in daylight and at night. Looks great also.

I've installed 3 so far and after the first one, I've learned to remove the license plate panel like the OP said. The one that writes the instructions must have small hands!
