Yup, Bob. And it looked ridiculous. Not sure who they would be targeting with such nonsense. Or, perhaps they want to turn the ride into a target. Get it?
Identify what you have control over and find peace with what you don't.
we could not make it...yesterday was a bad day for ryding with all the rain but today will be a balmy 57* and sunny so the test track will be crowded..

If you want to clear out some space...
Start looking "queasy"...
A few good heaves, and the threat of throwing-up on the crowd... you'll have the place to yourself!
Or; if you can mange it... will let them know how serious you are!
The crowd wasn't too bad...I bought grip wraps with fringes from one of the vendors there, so not a bad crowd at all.
as to test rides: they were offered, but nobody was going on them. It was not merely raining hard, it was absolutely pouring. Today it is dry, so maybe another poster can report on the test rides from today.

What's the story on the Red/Black 0ne? Is that some sort of KILLER stereo system lurking in the top trunk??
It had a high end amp of some sort in each saddle bag and that huge speaker that looks like a tire in the trunk. It was really over the top, so to speak. It had been polished so much that even the wear bars in the tire tired sparkled!
This Spyder was parked right in the entrance and was roped off with those velvet covered ropes. It was right in the middle of the walkway leading in. There was a small crowd of five or six people around it all day.

Same here.... that's why I did not go.
It's probably closing down now so not worth running out there today?

2011 RT-S SM5 - Black
Bought June 2013 with 450 miles. 27K on 8-1-2017.
Farkles - DIY Trunk Break Light, HMT Break Light, DIY Mirror Turn Signal Lights, DIY Bluetooth Dongle, DIY iPod Setup, DIY Alarm System Install, Show Chrome front fender / rear saddle bag lights, 4th break light around the trunk, Vented Windshield, Baja Ron Sway Bar, DIY GPS setup, Smooth Spyder, BRP Chrome Mirrors, Adjustable deflectors, Triaxis handlebars, NVB Pegs, Bad Boy Airhorn... More to come
The wife and I went yesterday, and got a test ride. The weather was perfect and the traffic was light. No waiting for a sign up. Couldn't ask for more.
Since I am a Spyder owner (had to prove it with insurance card) we got to take it out without escort. They said go wherever you want, just be back in 10-15 minutes, "or whenever".
I will sum up the 2014 ride in a word: HOMERUN!
We each rode our own 2014 RT-L with auto. We have a GS, so the experience was slightly different because we're used to the manual trans and sportier ride.
The new triple motor is amazing. Really torquey, fueling is spot on with no EPA weirdness. Even with the extra weight I'm not used to, it goes like stink. The only minor thing I noticed was a little buzz in the left floorboard. Otherwise, wonderful.
The overall bike experience was really good too. The only minor negative is there is some buffetting off of the windscreen. However, if you get it in the right position, no problem.
I carefully looked over the skeletonized Spyder on display and I think that routine servicing will be much easier. However, it would appear the DIY'er for deeper mechanical things will have a tougher time.
I was planning on waiting another year or two before I get one, but after riding it, I think my plans may have been changed for me.

I hate to burst your bubble but the ST does not have the triple motor

They had a bike contest and I am pretty sure that this was one of the entries along with this one. There is an RS under all of this. It was pretty cool looking just so big it was hard to get into one picture.12-8-13 5.jpg

Missed that one. The fellow I was with told me about it but couldn't remember where it was. It was late so didn't track it down. There were some blinged out bikes there.....for sure.

I wonder if all of the same displays are going to be brought to the NYC show??
The Spyder displays? I'm pretty sure that they will be the same. Chaz Rice will be there too as they have a media deal there also. If you haven't met him already you should introduce yourself. He is a really nice guy.
If you meant the show bikes I would think not because most of these had CA or western plates on them.
