Satellite radio
I was thinking about installing the integrated satellite radio on my bike. Can someone point me in the right direction? I am a little confused about the harness. Does the kit that is sold on BRP's site come with the necessary harness or do I have to buy it separately. Thanks
Jonny

I believe you also have to have the Entertainment Harness if you do not already have the CB/Comm system installed, and that you have to buy the harness separately. I'd quiz your dealer.

If you are like me and rarely change the channels then there are much cheaper ways to have satellite radio on the spyder. I purchased an auto radio, mounted it in my trunk, converted the 12V accessory port to be switched. The antenna is velcro mounted on the back of the armrest. All toll less than $100. The only negative to this is I cannot change channels unless I stop, but that is not bad when you consider the cost of being able to do that....

I did the same thing Sirius portable in trunk & Velcro antenna in side trunk behind passenger seat close to lid hinges. It gets good signal but nothing is exposed

Has anybody hooked up one of those "XM Snap" receivers in their top trunk?

XM Snap
Yes Bob I had one. Sometimes it would change channels when I hit a bump or turn itself off. It was bulky as well. I finally just added the XM to the bike since I already had the CB installed. I like being able to change the channels when I wanto not when the gremlins feel like it.

I just put a low cost xm radio on my bike......goes via fm station to the radio.....works just fine!! I move it from bike to bike to car.

What receiver is that, and how did you mount it?

it is this........http://shop.siriusxm.com/xm/ctl10600/cp49759/si6321860/cl1/xm_onyx_ez_with_vehicle_kit
I mounted the vehicle kit on my handle bars so I can change the station or the fm station, which I can preset. I have the antenna mounted with velcro on the right mirror. I placed an accessory power plug on one of the speaker grills. when it rains, I place a small plastic bag over it. works great and I can listen to music all day!!
