    Default Broken Antenna Dilema

Discovered one day my antenna had been broken. Went to dealer to be told $70.00+ dollars for a new one. Went to Walmart and got the short rubber antenna to find out it would not pick up radio stations, our closest 70 miles. Noticed my pickup had a screw in antenna also so took it to try. The thread was too small but it had a 1/2" shank of perfect size. Took a 6MX1 die and cut a thread,it fit perfect and works great, a few raps of tape on the bottom then the boot fit snug to keep out water. It is nearly same leangth so matches with CB antenna and stainless steel so will never break. Went to garbage dump, there was 6 wrecked vehicle. 3 had the same antenna. This antenna fits lots of makes and model cars & trucks. Good part cost "0".

always good to put things to use wherever you can. These antennas seem to be lacking and many have moved on with alternate ones..congrats..!!

Very crafty (and thrifty if I may say so). How about a pic of all your mods?

PM me if you want this same list with screenshots. I have one but for some strange reason couldn't attach it here. It says the file is larger than the size limit.

    Hi Barlock
We have an Apple I-pad and will take a picture and see if we can figure it out. What part of Alberta are you as we are heading to the Lethbridge area in a week?
