Time to put the liners in the riding pants and you should be good. Have run into some 30's so far and were still good.

The older I get the more I don't like cold.

Good thing we only usually have 2 or less months of below 40's here.

    Cold weather riding??
A friend of mine gave me a set of insulated leggings that you just wrap around your calves; they secure with velcro.

    Default heat

my bike might not have the worst heat problem out of all of them. i took the side off and the master cylinder was good but i feel the heat on my right foot really bad. but i have what is called diabetic neuropathy, and it causes pain in the nerves in your body http://lyrica.com/DPN/understanding-...n-and-symptoms so when i am riding i feel like my right foot is on fire so if you want my heat i will give it to you for free

    John,
Neuropathy is your friend; you can probably stub a toe right sideways in the middle of the night , and go right back to sleep...
I found that I had more nerve pain if I didn't keep close control of my Blood glucose levels...
Keeping my A1c readings in the low sixes really helps; I now only have diminished sensations without the shooting pains!

No sense in hating it; you've just got to find the best way to deal with it!
After all; it sure ain't going away!
I actually got some good news yesterday from my insulin pump supplier (Metronic). They've got a brand new pump coming out that will AUTOMATICALLY suspend the delivery of insulin if Blood Glucose reading drop to a predetermined level...
they've also improved the accuracy of the sensors that monitor BG levels by 31%
They're getting closer and closer to creating the "closed-loop "system that we've been dreaming about!!

I get the new pump in a couple of weeks!

i am considered type 2 and the insurance will not pay for a pump. but the new one they are coming out with is great. i checked into them and tried to get a pump but got a big no

Has your endo done a C-Peptide test? If the results are bad enough; insurance HAS to pay for the pump...
    Ask about it...

I wear my snowmobile gear. I am thinking about getting heated grips though. Do you ride an RS, ST or RT?
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally

    Just sayin'............

i used them back in the 1990's they worked good on 20/40 degree early morning rides to work from Daytona to Jacksonville. There is a trick to making them last more then one usage. Get yourself a box of Ziplock freezer bags and when you get where your going remove the heater and put it in the zip lock bag. Squeeze as much air out of the bag as possible and seal it up.
