Boy, am I glad we had them install the foglights when they prepped our Spyder. I wouldn't have wanted to mess with this in Michigan in March. Easier for them & easier for me. Nice explanation and supplement, Lamont.

So what did they get for the install? My guess is that it was worth it.

Only charged us about an hour labor, because it was a learning experience for them. Two hours total charged for the riser, outlet, foglights, and various bags, but it took them about twice that...and they had the advantage of not having to remove the trunk.

I would say if a shop is going to charge you two hours for a install of these lights that is a fair price and you'll be ahead of the game. Now if you're like me and just like taking stuff apart that's a different story.

I purchased my spyder and the fog lights were installed already, I am upgrading to the BRP HID's and was wondering, since I didnt install the fogs myself, did they give you a prewired wiring harness. I am wondering if the BRP HID and FOG light used in conjunction, if its a completely new wiring harness.

I wanted to get a set of the stock fog light and install them myself but if this is what I have to go though to do the job I will have to re-think about this now, have no desire to pull the whole front and dash apart to get them in. I will find another set that will fit and does not require such a gray hair job.

Replace BRP Fog Lights with NMN Fog Lights?
Does anyone have the instructions/pictures of what needs to be done for installing the NMN fog lights. The dealer installed the origional BRP fog lights so I'm at a loss for the install and what needs to be done for the installation of the NMN replacements?

Anything else happening when the engine shuts off like the display going dead or scrolling an error message? Not owning or even helping to hook up a set of fog lights, I'm only guessing at what might be wrong. All I can figure is that something in that fog light harness got tied into something it wasn't supposed to as the headlights and fog lights are fused (and wired) separately from things that would control the engine.

I bought a used 2009 SE5 Spyder with fog lights already on it. They worked when I purchased it,but now it blows the 10 amp fuse the second I press the fog light switch. I took off the panel under the switch, wiggled wires, and traced them to a square box in series with the switch and fog light.Anyone know what this is? I read here earlier to put in a 20 amp fuse?..

Hi and welcome to spyderlovers, this thread was started a long time ago so it might serve you better to post a new thread. Be sure to include the year and model of your Spyder so people will know how to help you. Maybe include information on what lights you bought-who is the manufacturer.
