Geeez, that is like anarchy. Apparently the driver had his wife and child in the SUV.

video of Motorcycle gangs in NY .....
This guy must have been pooping bricks.
Now imagine if the car owner had a gun, there would have been at least 5 to 10 people shot.
I guess the car owner did not have a cell phone, otherwise he could have called 911.

they were pretty brave having him outnumbered 30 or 40 to one. Pack mentality

The most amazing part of the video to me was, there was no traffic on the west side hwy.
On a serious note, If i had a wife and child in the car, i'm pretty sure it would have turned into a video game scenario.....100 points for ea. a hole taken out. that!

What part of that video gives you ANY indication that running was going to diffuse that situation? When they cornered him, and smashed out his window sending glass inside the car? To late by then. Thugs need to be treated like thugs, its all they understand. Your life aint worth a crap to them, whether you try to "be nice" or not.

Looks like a good example of just who is going to protect you when they dont allow you to carry a gun!

I have to wonder what part the SUV driver had to do start with ?? Not that the bikers did right either. I have to wonder if he did not force his way into a stream of motorcycldes on the road and hit a motorcycle first. Their was a big ride going on.
What would you do if a vehicle hit a friend of yours and kept going ???????
I have been way to many scenes as a Law Enforcement person to go with only one side of the story
Just a thought

I agree since we dont know what started all of it. But, i'm sure someone on either side could have called the police, esp if the car hit one of the bikers. Car 54 where are you.....

I wonder that myself even though the article said: One biker apparently cut the driver off and slammed on the brakes just before the SUV bumped his rear tire. Notice it said apparently.
I'm not saying the biker's were right in what they did; they should all be held accountable.
I do have a question since guns were brought up. What would happen if the driver of the SUV had a gun and pulled it out and someone or more than one in the biker group pulled out theirs and started firing?

watch the vid around the 15 second mark on and you will see the bikes rode up on the suv and the biker in the black vest said something to the suv, i'm thinking he told the driver to move over and at that point he pulls in front of the suv and comes to a stop, i think the suv rear ended him and that started everything

The idiot that hit the skids was trying to toy with the SUV. He was lucky he was in the state of NY, if he'd been in Montana, of Wyoming, one of them country boys might have emptied their six gun, and been reloading before he hit the ground. That was a planned incident to incite a driver. You don't "accidentally" hit the brakes then look back to see how close you can get. I have little problem with the driver taking evasive action, the bike rider was trying to create a rear end collision, which in most states is automatically the fault of the vehicle in the rear. I would find no fault with the SUV. Further, with that many bikes trying to catch him they would be in a sad state when a dozen or so were "nudged" off the road. Alas, the SUV will probably be charged with fleeing the scene of an injury accident. The guy on the bike clearly was baiting to SUV, which says much about the common sense he doesn't possess. I would never pull that kind of on my sidecar rig which may tip the scales up around 900-1,000 pounds, the stability of a sports bike in an impact like that would be crazy.

Saw that too the first viewing. I don't think the biker told the SUV to move over though, (there were bikes passing on both sides) but to slow down until the pack passed. Thats why he put his bike in front of the SUV and slowed down, trying to get the cage to do the same. Why the SUV didn't slow down? Only the driver knows...
Have seen it done before and it works to keep the pack back together. The car slows down and the pack passes. Not safe, but they do it.

If you don't slow down, they can't catch you..
If you don't give up, they can't win.
What a long strange journey its been.

Update: http://jalopnik.com/watch-nyc-bikers...s-o-1427168165
Driver apparently did call 9-1-1 while the bikers were around him. Scared for his life, I'd reckon. Given what eventually happened to him-- the beating he took-- his thought wasn't far-fetched.
