The packing was excellent with every piece individually wrapped in the thin flexible Styrofoam and then lots of bubble wrap. Still need the two additional trim pieces for the scoops and some more decals. All those pieces shipped yesterday.

And let me say this, the colors match perfectly. You could never tell the difference in color. From the little bit I looked at the fitment there should be no problems needing additional brackets. It does look like you will need to move the wiring harness to the inside of the frame to secure the rear part of the new front panel but that should be a no brainer, me thinks. Other than that, I think this is going to be piece of cake. Hmm it might be pound cake but still...

I knew they would fit....the frame was not changed....so excited to hear how it go's....sure hoping the added air flow helps reduce heat under panels....Carl do you have fog lights? thinking about removing mine for more air....keep us posted....woohoo

Glad its working out for you so far Carl and major props for giving it a try.
I've found the same when I put the RT air suspension on my RS. The reps really don't know their own product.

Okay, during my daily ritual of chores and honey-do items around thee ol' abode, and a visit by Lamonster of SL fame, I did manage to get the new panels for the right side installed although I am still missing the black trim work and Can Am decals.

All I can say is that anyone with a some good old common sense and knowledge of how to use a torx screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers will have no problems installing these panels. Yes, they are that easy. Biggest problem, making sure you don't scratch them.

How does it look, you decide? The lighting today was horrible outside, very, very wet, and an overall lousy day. But I did move it outside and take a couple of pictures of the right side. Color looks horrible in one picture but at least it is the whole bike and not the new panels.

Will probably finish the install tomorrow or maybe this evening. Final picts when I'm finished and have the rest of my parts.

The fit of upper part of the side panel looks slightly different than in stock photo. It could be caused by missing black scoop insert.
Did you close the frunk lid all the way.

Other than that panels look like they belong there.
Guess we have to wait for the final view with rest of the parts.

Hmm, I guess I should go check that to see if it is closed. Of course I moved things around so now it probably is closed.

Now you will have to take a ride to South Florida to see how it works in warm temps. Great job.

Wow, rest of the parts arrived this afternoon. Now all I need to do is apply the CanAm decals and it will be finished (for right now). Probably tomorrow I will do that final task. The pictures really don't do it justice. The panels really look nice and from what I can see they will supply plenty of air to the undersides as long as you are moving. Much like other bikes in that respect.

We are planning a ride down to Florida in February to visit folks in Saint Augustine, Orlando, and Apollo Beach. That will hopefully give me an idea about the heat or lack thereof.

No modifications to any parts needed to be done for the panels to fit. Everything lined up correctly. Basically, it looks like a factory job, which it sort of is.

Total cost is less than $900 for everything and that includes shipping. I will post a picture of my spreadsheet later. But one must remember my four panels are Circuit Yellow and that is the part numbers in my sheet.

    Cool New panel question

Has anyone checked the parts numbers of these so called accessory panels and the frame part number to see if the frame mounting holes are going to match up?

I can hear the screaming now when the panels miss fitting by 1/64th of an inch.

    Carl,

Just wanted to add my thanks to you for taking on this project and documenting it. Though you did an ST I would imagine the same thing could be done with an RS. We have a 2014 ST-S on order for my wife. I plan to ride a bit and see how I feel about it. If I like it I'll likely abandon my BMW R1200RT and end up with an RS-S. There are good deals to be had on 2013s so knowing that the scoop retrofit is possible helps me establish my plan.

    Again, thanks!

Bob haven't you been following these posts? Everything fits perfectly. No modifications are needed for them to fit.
