I really hope you all are right. I have always seen my RS as a high tech sportsbike and that's what I want.
But if the new RT outperforms your RS.... then which is really the 'sportbike'?
I've ridden my RT as hard as my GS in the twisties in the smokies and most would be hard pressed to keep up on their RS.
Off the line on a straight drag.. sure.. the RS beats my current RT... but the new one... maybe not.
I used to worry about having a 'sportbike' too when I got my RT... didn't think it was quite 'cool' enough. Well.. I get more compliments from riders of all styles of bikes than I did on my GS.
I was planning on getting another GS so I'd have the best of both worlds... but with this new RT... that just might really fit both.
Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!
Lamont do you think the Corbin seat fits the new 2014 RT or does Corbin have to go back to the drawing board ? Will your HYW brackets fit the 2014 RT? Will I have to put Elkas and a new Sway bar on the 2014 to maintain the ride I have on my 2011 with the Elkas ?
Does anyone know if a 2011 RT622 trailer work with a 2014 RTS?
Trailer configuration looks the same. I don't know about the wiring but that is not a difficult task.
May all your encounters with the law begin with the words: "nice trike!".[/B]

As far as I can tell the seat and NBV should work.
Is it me? Or does Bob look unhappy with his color choice?
I dunno... Is it just me?
Bob just does NOT look happy on cognac?

I hated to tease you guys like that but you can click on the first picture to scroll through all 65 of them. I'll answer any questions you have the best I can here.
I will say I am so excited to finally be able to tell you about the 2014 RT. As you can see from the pics we now a 1300cc in-line 3 cylinder motor with 96 lb.-ft of torque at 5000 rpm and 115 hp at 7250 rpm. I can tell you this thing is a torque monster. I've been riding the prototype version of this for the last two years and a couple of weeks ago was able to do some real world testing with my buddy Fred Rau. One of the main things we like is you now have an honest 200 mile+ range with this Spyder before you need to start looking for fuel. The 6th gear was an added bonus and there is so much torque even at 2000 rpm that it didn't really matter what gear you were in around town. I think the guys coming off of Harley's and Goldwing's will be able to shift at the rpm's they're use to.
The other big thing that we've all been talking about is the heat, well there is no heat on the new RT. They moved the radiators up front to where it no longer blows in the engine compartment and they added another radiator for added cooling. If that wasn't enough they also have the fans running in reverse at slow speeds so the air is blown away from the rider.
The other thing you got to love is the new maintenance schedule.
Break-In Inspection 3000 miles
Oil Change 9300 miles
Valve adjustment no longer required
Trans filter 28000 miles
Engine coolant and spark plugs 28000 miles
This will not make the dealers too happy I'm sure but the owners will love it.

AS you probably already know BRP had their 2013 dealer meeting here in Orlando this week, the 2014 was unveiled on Sunday night’s dinner. Earlier that day we where privileged to have a main tech person ride a brand new 2013 RT over from Central Florida Power Sports …he wanted to watch the ROLO guys use the new laser system…he was very impressed. He also mentioned that they 2014 was built on the same 2013 chassis…what that means is you are still going to have geometry issues…make sure when you order the new 2014 that the dealer laser aligns that bike to YOUR weight….if you are paying that kind of money…. the Spyder better be spot on !!!!! Just my opinion
