Anyone know if the seat is different pan from 2012? I seem to recall some change in 2013 on the RT seat pan?
Reason I ask is I would want to transfer my Corbin to the 2014 RT. I know BRP has their comfort seat, etc..... But I've never been impressed with any of their seats.... Plus would want to keep the gas door!
Then again, maybe Corbin will come out with a new model with another door for the oil!
Another question. Did they do anything about the belt squeak? I have to lube my 2012 RT belt every 400 miles to get rid of it.
Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

Eco mode tells you when to shift. 1st to 2nd at 1800rpm. 2nd to 3rd at 1950. 3rd and beyond at 2100. Because of the clutch design you cannot damage it by shifting too soon. There is no centrifugal clutch anymore.
4) Is it easier to access the airbox for the filter than before? I hated changing that thing, LOL.
yes, it's on the top left side, you can remove the y-panel and get to it much easier than before.
5) I hear that they eliminated the centrifugal clutch, does this mean the electronic shifting is even smoother than before? And is the "clutch destruction" that plagued previous models heavily minimized?
Yes it's removed and you cannot damage anything by shifting too low. Well, I'm sure someone will find a way but not like before.
I can't comment on how smoothly it shifts other than to say it's designed like the Audi DSG which is smooth as butter. However the Audi is not without it's quirky behaviors, no idea if these carry over to the new RT.

For those of us who never wanted all the extras of the RT this is extremely disappointing. Clearly the RS is the poor forgotten cousin doomed now to be just entry level and nothing else.

Rarely does a company have resources to update the full line one fell swoop. Plus...one wants to stagger the excitement and momentum. Just because the RT got upgraded does not mean the RS is neglected or will be dropped.

Dan, I don't know if they changed the 2014 but the 2013 had the same seat as the prior years. I had one from a 2011 with a Utopia backrest on my 2013.

Did they brighten up the Turn indicators etc., on the dash
Just wondering for 2014 if they have enhanced the brightness of turn signal indicators and other lights on the Instrument cluster? Bright sunny days made it hard to see things at times.

I have to admit that I thought all the prior talk about another gear or a bigger motor was not justified. Guess I was wrong, still happy with my '13 STS but can only imagine what they will do to the model for 2015. I do wish BRP would expand their trials prior to a release, it does seem they leave people hanging with possible issues and just move on to another year and model.
