Not only that, but with a 2010 RT-S you should get JUST around 24,000 miles on your front OEM's.

Different Brand Tires
I am not a tire expert by any means of the word.
I thing other more experienced people will chime in later on their expertise.
My suggestion would be that different brands would be ok given they are similar tread design (directional / highway / off road traction tires).
Most definitely the tires should be the same exact size in with and height.
Other than that you would have to look at the 2 different tread patterns

.... That may be true if you live in the land where a twisty is an On-Ramp...
but, where I live the twisties start a mile from my house... and, yes, my 2012 Ltd is starting to show serious wear on the front tires with only 10,000. mi!
I just ordered 2 of the few remaining Bridgestone Potenzas to be ready to replace the front tires next season. I already replaced the rear with a Toyo Proxes.

I only got about 17 K out of my front tires and 20k out of the back, but I believe most vehicle people say never to use different brands on the "same axle".
It makes sense to me. No two tire brands are compounded the same and under extreme ( serve to avoid a wreck), they would react differently.
Just my thoughts

Like Jack did, I also ordered a pair of the few remaining Bridgestone Potenzas 165/65R14 tires from The Tire Rack and have them in hand and ready to be installed at my 14,600 mile service, which will be in another month at our current ryding rate.
My OEM tires have had an inherent wobble at about 42 mph since day one and I have finally decided to do away with them.

What about 2013s?
The 2013 RTs have 165/55R15 front tires. Plus, the fenders are closer to the tires to "improve the look." Any ideas for replacements other than OEM?? Going to a 50 profile tire would require a wider tire to keep the same tire height and might rub the fender. Going to a 60/65 profile would require a narrower tire to keep the height the same. Since virtually all my ryding is on twisty Ozark two lane roads I expect I'll be replacing mine more quickly than usual.

I know that firefly is using a set right now; he seems to like them!
They do come in the OEM sizing also...
I have the Potenzas which I had installed at 15000 miles in July.Since then I did a 4700 mile trip to Nova Scotia as well of lots of rydes and they are excellent.

Is that too much of a difference for Nanny to accept without pitching a fit?
Bob the difference in size between these two tires is a "whopping " .......19 revolutions per mile traveled...(more).....This is so insignificant because the OEM tire travels 926 revs per mile.....Hope this allays any fears you may have had...........annnnnnnnnnnnd this is my next front tire it's " V speed rated " and can be had for around $75 at most places I looked.......Mike

Motorcycle tires are high performance, softer and stickier. As a result they don't last as long as car tires...MC tires are designed for increased traction with a larger contact patch. Use MC tires on a MC. Use car tires on a car. I use Bridgestone on my Prius. These are the hardest, least sticky tires I've been able to find. They have the least rolling resistance, and the smallest contact patch. I use motocycle tires on my Spyder. My safety, even the little bit of marginal safety from the difference in tires...my safety is worth a lot more than a few dollars.

One thing though... These just ain't motorcycles! They actually react in most ways quite similarly to a subcompact car...
Bikes have very unique needs in tires due to how they turn...
