Don't know..!!
Must be up there with water wetter and ice etc. I have used water wetter additive and don't really know how well it works. Roadster runs 4/5 bars all summer long including traffic. Maybe someone has used it but time is running out for those in cooler areas...

Opinions needed

this is a very good write up. I am wondering what you all think....
If it works, I will switch to 30/70 red line...but I'm fearful of damaging the engine, AND of angering the nanny. Where I live, about 40 miles West of Palm Springs, Ca, the weather never gets colder than maybe 30 at night, in the winter. And the Spyder always sleeps in the garage. However, the rest of the year is quite warm, with summers being HOT.

Low speed, high heat situations with a mud-clogged radiator; no problems!
So if I drained the radiator and put in the stuff that passes the ATSD (spelling) certification it should help. Sometimes now instead of the middle of the dial it goes up a couple of bars when I'm in stop-and-go traffic on really hot (100+) days. I never need anti-freeze 'cuz it does not get cold enough here. So I was thinking maybe this would be better. ?????

Additives and Aunty Freeze
That old adage "how do you make Aunty Freeze? You take away her nitey!"
The snake oil salesman are every where it seems. Some work and some don't! To the poster that said he did not need antifreeze I would debate that decision. The use of coolant/antifreeze has multi uses in motor vehicle especially with aluminum blocks such as the Gold Wing and the Rotax. The use of coolant/antifreeze slows the reactions of steel and alloy types of components that comprise our engines and cooling systems.
True you can run straight water for a while. Maybe even years but it will get you in the end or sooner then later.

If your Spyder is still on warranty, please understand that the use of a coolant that does not meet BRP specifications can cause rejection of warranty claim that can be related to its use. Also be very careful that the coolant you use needs to be labeled to combat corrosion in, or be compatible with, aluminum engines. Using one that does not can turn the engine block and heads to mush. Ask owners of the old Olds/Pontiac 215 V-8 if you doubt my word. Rising a couple of bars in stop-&-go traffic and running at half gauge or better in hot weather is normal. If you are not getting an overheating warning or limp mode you are not overheating.
