I don't recommend welding it. It will render the engine unable to be dismantled.....in other words junk if it needs an overhaul. You are the only one that has reported wearing out multiples. Others have had them loosen or come off, but they were able to be tightened in most cases. I'd sure suggest frequent checks of the bolt tightness, a check of the shaft spline condition and fit, and possible modification of the lever. Typically a wider slot is cut so the lever pinches tighter. I don't know if that is possible on the Spyder, though.

Not likely..!!
if item 46 is the shift lever he is talking about he would be hollering a lot louder..!!
Agree you can cut or file the gap to get a better pinch with the bolt. They most likely failed because they got loose....

Is it because the pinch bolt becomes loose?

Now that it has been established that it does exist. There have been lots of posts that the lever has come loose and falls off. It has become a routine for me at every oil change to check if the lever has come loose and is able to slide on the shaft. I did find that it came loose on my 09 GS once and tightening the pinch bolt fixed the problem permanently. As long as the lever is kept tight I see no reason for the lever not to last the life of the Spyder. IMO.
