Ann I am so glad you are physically okay ! I hope you are mentally as well !

All I know if this would have been my bike I wouldn't be able to get off fast enough into my wheelchair to not get burned I'm afraid .. It makes me worry that BRP is being so slow to rectify heat issues on 2013s.

I am so sorry Ann. My thoughts are with you. Please let us all know the cause of this fire. You may be saving lives here.

I'm glad you are uninjured. When things cool down (pun intended) please tell us what happened . . . what was your first indication of a problem, and how long before the Spyder was engulfed in flame? Your comments may save someone else injury, should this turn out to be the leading edge of an issue with the 2013.

Hope like heck you are truly ok!! Looks like quick thinking on your part could have saved you from serious injury. Good luck on getting this all sorted out.

Ann, hope you are o.k. mentally and physically. Were you able to get the trailer off before the fire got too bad, or didn't it go on the Redwood Run? Have Hubby give you a big hug from me...

Thank you all for your concern. I'm shook up but okay. On my way home and now I'm getting low battery indications on my phone so you will have to wait until later for all of the fiery details

    Cool Thermal event response

If the lady is fine then everything is OK. The Spyder is just a thing and things can be replaced. The sad part is going to be the hassles of getting a settlement and if a " cause and effect " can ever be determined.

Would be nice if BRP would buy the debris and could find a cause. Would become an interesting story if she could put the event to paper and share it with the Spyder world. Might serve to keeping fires to a minimum.

Bruisersbaby showed this to me on Facebook. What a shame. By the looks of the cremains (yeah, that's not a misprint) there isn't anything left to show where/how the fire started. Time to get the NHTSA involved.

Ann, the most important thing is we are all glad you were not injured or hurt. I feel so bad for you. I sincerly hope that BRP will step in very quickly and at least communicate their response to the on-going heat problems that are troubling the 2013's and, if you would still own and ride a spyder, I would certainly hope the factory would offer you anything you wanted as a replacement.
