I am only 30, but I am trapped inside this 66 year old body and I can't get out.

All this talk about age around here lately sure makes me grateful that I am not as old as most around here?

May all your encounters with the law begin with the words: "nice trike!".[/B]

Never too young
I am 47 soon to be 48 and the wife is 44 and we purchased a RT in April. Our former ride, for 10 years, was a HONDA ACE 750 and most folks I meet were happy you were out riding and didn't care what you were on. So far my experience with the Spyder has been pleasant as well, yeah a few hard core riders may snub their nose but frankly I don't give a darn about that and wave anyways. It is my goal to make them break down and wave, if not oh well their loss not mine.
I believe it depends on what you want to do. We wanted to be able to pack the bike and go on day/weekend trips and the RT gives you that from the start, I believe you can add lots of things to the other models of the Spyder, however we were purchasing a bike equiv in our minds to a Goldwing.
I am a firm believer that one should ride whatever one wants to ride and enjoy riding. One caveat is if someone else is buying, I may be open to riding something else, until then get what you want that fits your needs and enjoy it life is too short.

I am 31! Most people think the spyder is really cool. My wife picks on me about a spyder at my age more than anyone haha but hey isn't that what she's suppose to do! I love my spyder and would never consider getting something else.

I'm 28 and own an RT. Got it when I was 27, and haven't looked back since. I love it, and screw what anyone else thinks. They aren't riding it, after all.
A real biker doesn't care about your opinion on his lifestyle, or his choice of steed.

I have a confession. I got my RT-S in November at the age of 62 and I soon got hassled about owning a Spyder while being so young...and still do on occasion; however, the 'hassler' was (and is) me. I've had trouble letting go of my two-wheeler as a primary mode of recreational travel and accepting the safer, cooler, faster, more technologically advanced, Can Am Spyder.
Was it the right decision? You bet! ...Gnirtsnod

Get what you want, set it up your way, ryde it the way you want: be careful, they're habit forming.
As far as age, I was old (71) once, decided I didn't like it, so I stopped.

Ride what you want
I will be 59 in about a month. I just bought an RT-S and just got back from the owners event. I also ride a 2009 Aprilia RSV1000 (the Spyders polar opposite) and a Harley. I like all of the safety features of the Spyders. I say don't let anyone tell you what to ride and you will always enjoy the ride. People who have no idea what they are talking about always seem to want to give you their opinion.

I know a 15 or 16 year old that's supposed to get one this summer.......young man from Missouri.........;-)
Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!
-
So who among us would be willing to give up their Spyder, if any age and health issues that forced a look in this direction, were absent?
