    Default Hi Everyone

I thought I'd post in here since I am looking at the RT-S. I posted in the Colorado subforum but it's been pretty dead in there.

My name is Nick, I am 31 years old, married, and live in Parker, Colorado. I want a Spyder to do some touring and while I have 15 years experience on motorcycles and owned bikes for the past eight years, I have the Spyder bug.

A week and a half ago I test rode an ST Limited at Pikes Peak Motorsports in Colorado Springs. Very nice! However, wifey wasn't very comfy so I am going to take an RT-S demo test ride on Wednesday afternoon at RPM Motorsports. Wife won't be joining me this time but she did sit on one and loved it. So, when I get a little closer to purchasing I will have her join me for a ride.

I've been reading up on them and think they're pretty unique vehicles.

The yellow RT-S is my favorite!

Hey Nick, I am down here near Walsenburg.
Bought my 2012 rts-es last yr and have really enjoyed it. Wife and i both enjoy the ride, it took a little getting use to as I have been riding two wheels since 1965.
Let us know how the test ride goes and if you get down this way give me a call.
We bought ours at Freemont motorsports where they usually sell for about a thousand under MSRP.
    Also a very good dealer.

Welcome to the best site in the Spyderverse! You don't have the bug, but you've got the bite!

Have fun on your test drive, and after you buy one, please pose pics.

the Spyder is a great bike for touring and I'm sure your wife will enjoy being a passenger. I never imagined that I would own a yellow Spyder but now that I do the color is really growing on me.

Yes, the bite, of course! Especially since spiders are not bugs but arachnids

Thanks! I am somewhat set on the S and my color choices, first to last, are yellow, blue, magnesium, red. Red is a distant 4th. Never been into red much.

My motorcycle buddies are giving me a hard time about getting one. Saying I'm "too young" to get a touring trike, that I can't drag knees like on a bike (never did that anyway). I will probably put my bike up for sale but I can always get another.

I have the 2013 YELLOW RT-S and you will both love it.... I sold my 1800 Goldwing to buy it and never looked back. It is one of the best decision I ever made. There is a group on Facebook called Girls on Spyders that you wife may want to check out. We have over 650 women from all over the world in the group that have an interest in Spyders

I do kind of wish they had a black RT-S but why not go for a really bright one? I am actually really liking the metallic white that the limited comes in. That's the color of the ST Limited I test rode. But the yellow is pretty cool!

Welcome, I used to live in Parker. Moved there when there was about 1200 people. Lived in Hidden Village and the Pinery. I know it's changed a lot but it was a nice area to live. I drove out there 3 years ago with my son when I was in Denver to see him. I hardly recognized it.
You will love your Spyder and get a lot out of this Forum.

Im here in Monument. Had my Spyder since April 3rd. Didn't like what I saw at the Colorado Springs dealer. Fremont didn't have the RT-S SE in blue. Ended getting mine in Phoenix.
i agree with mtbear Fremont would be your best bet on the front range

Thanks, I checked it out. In fact, I met a rider at RPM today from the Meetup site named Diane. She's riding a 2012 white/blue Limited/S combo. Pretty cool!

1200 people? That must have been a while ago It s growing for sure. Brand new Cabela's at Ridgegate and I-25, which is a new road south of Lincoln, couple miles south of C-470.

Awesome! Co Springs guys were nice but you're right, their selection was not very good. RPM has a lot but they won't go much, if at all, lower than MSRP.

Where in Phoenix did you get yours? I don't mind a road trip!
