Lets talk Mods!
I have a 2012 and I would like to know something.
What is the one mod that you have done that you could not go without and why?

2012 RT Limited
Utopia Backrest.
That is the one thing I would not go without that I have installed.
It is a hard choice because without the Seal Floorboards, I still was not comfortable in the leg area.
So I guess I gave 2 mods I would not go without.
2012 RT Limited: Utopia back rest, SealBoards, and Shark bluetooth communicators on VCAN Woody helmets.

thats a good one
I have done many mods to my rs and the one I love are high way pegs. Have not even had it a year and we have put 12k miles on it and the pegs let you move around . But that is only one of many!!!!!!

Vertical trikes floor boards, unless you count the mod of geting a spyder
Corbin saddle
spyderpops block off plate, bump skid, belt guard
IPS
Tricled LED lights all around(too many to name here)
Smoothspyder belt tensioner
Custom Dynamics britesides
VTC floorboards, upper air vents, spoiler
BK car stuff HID upgrade
trailer hitch
Repainted rear fender, trunk latch assembly, switch cluster, gauge cluster
cell phone interface kit
travel cover that no longer fits due to the spoiler
New sway bar
New shock relocator

The Elka shocks just changed my ride! We have bad roads here in Quebec and with the stock shocks, I was bottoming out on some of them. After the Elkas the ride was 10x smoother and I gained height on the front end, very rare that I bottom out now! Other great mods, but you only asked for one.

For me..!!
BajaRon sway bar...our 2012 RS handles sooo much better after that mod. Have done allot, store bought and custom but that made the biggest difference...why your only allowed one..??

Aftermarket Shocks, Fox on the ST and Elka on the RT. Elka is the best. Fox was cheap and better than stock. Made ride perfect on both bike and now can hang turns without tapping brakes and no dragging.

Best mod
The Ron bar and shock relocators made my RT much safer in cornering.

For handling: get BajaRon's sway bar and crank up your front shocks (that part is free!)
For safety: a high mount brake light and mud flap lights (they really make a difference).
Number One: 2008 Yellow GS SM5. I love my Spyder.
Number Two: 2012 RT-S Limited (the poop colored RT) I still have Number One, but Some Girl made me buy Number Two...

for my riding style I can't imagine having to ride on only stock foot pegs, so seal floorboards or KewlMetal highway boards , diamond R floorboards, and all the others available make the experience that much better.
what ever seat you end up with, Corbin, stock, or ultimate, the "back rest"will be the biggest improvement.
And for ride performance, I believe either Ron's sway bar or high performance shocks like Elka or Works Performance is the ticket for enjoying the ride through the twisties as you can take turns so much more aggressive, with out any workout. seriously!
So you need three things, no ifs ands or buts.

Ditto - that is without a bout the best bang for the buck and a MUST have if you think the RT could handle better.

How do you like the Kewl Metal boards? I am really considering floor boards as my first mod.

Third brake light for safety reasons.

All of them...I'd hate to think I'd be depriving my Spyder of all the goodies...Every time I get around another Spyder I think "I've got to have one of those"...it never stops....Latest addition...SIRUS XM stereo....I should list my mods but if my wife ever saw the list she'd kill me...

I like all my mods but I think one of my newest mod is my favorite...Diamond R Accessories Special Edition Split Floor Boards with foot pegs. I thought I was comfortable before the floor boards but what a difference they make!!
Diamond R is one of our sponsors.
