    Default UltraGard Half Cover

I learned two things over this holiday weekend:

    1. We need rain gear. The missus and I got caught out in a torrential downpour. On the plus side, it was the first time we road in the rain. The Spyder handled phenomenally.
    2. Our new cranberry Ultragard half cover worked great! For just shy of $40 bucks delivered, it kept our dash and seat bike completely dry as we tried to wait out the rain--eventually giving in and taking the wet ride home. It has an underneath protected area for the windshield an two tie-downs. A 5 year warranty to boot makes me a happy camper. We bought ours off ebay and the cranberry looks nice with the viper red.

Raingear: I like TourMaster's Elite one-pice suits. In thirty years' of using them; I've never gotten wet while wearing it!

Thanks for the suggestion on rain gear :-) I don't like feeling like a drowned rat!

Might also want to take a look at Frogg Toggs. I've had a set for two years now and have no complaints. They work great and best of all, roll up into a very small storage bag.

    Default Half Cover.

I watched the video about the UltraGard half cover, and I was kind of surprised by the way the antennae was bent over in order for the cover to go on. I'd read how they're rather fragile antennaes, and I've been so careful with 'em, eh? <M>

I agree, the cover needs a hole in the back or your antenna will be broken soon!

Agreed. We didn't put ours on over the antenna and it still worked fine. My wife is going to cut a hole and sew it to reinforce it to go over the antenna.

I would think it would work ok. If anything you might be able to cover more.

I also snagged one off eBay!

When it came in, I did a "TEST" fit and broke the OEM antenna!!!

I replaced the broken antenna with a shortee one from Wally World....

I have the UltraGard full cover that I bought new last November. It used to be black but now it is a very light gray as it faded something fierce. The stitching at the windshield is also coming loose so I will be getting it warrantied soon.

I just bought a Nelson Rigg half cover. It is specifically designed for the CAM Am Spyder RT Limited and has two slits in rear for the am/fm antennae and another slit for the CB antennae, should you install one. It is 54.95. Nice product.

And that is with several years experience.

all on two wheels. More on four or more. Guess I may need to start multi-coloring for three wheels.
