In theory, all weather forecasters are Science Fiction writters... I'll believe (some of it) by that Monday!
May all your encounters with the law begin with the words: "nice trike!".[/B]

My intent here was to imply that you never know when you will need GOOD rain gear and the Frogg Toggs sale going on now is a very good deal. Believe me, I was not singing the praises of our national weather system

This past Saturday we had an Honor and Remember ceremony. The weather man said rain and thunderstorms beginning around 2:00. The ceremony started at 9:30, the rain and storms moved in a little after 10:00. We stood the flag line in pouring rain until the lightening started. So I guess the weather guessers were spot on. NOT.
2011 owners event, rained a little on Friday but not a washout. It was actually rather cool Friday evening. Sunday was a washout. Storms, very heavy rain, hail.

Looking out that far ahead; if they were any good at prognostications; they would have been buying PowerBall tickets...
But good rain gear is certainly worth it's weight in platimun!

Don't wash your bike.
SOMEBODY washed their bike just before MASR and it rained there.
I'm not saying who.
I'm just saying.........................................
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

What..!!
You all didn't know...weathermen/women don't have windows. I often yell out to look out the window its pouring as they inform me that there is a slight chance of a drizzle... If you travel carry rain gear..!!

The GF is one of those types. You know the type: the type who hangs on the weather forecast days, even weeks in advance, when it's utterly meaningless (I mean, c'mon... the second week of June? Really?? )
I hope we have great weather. I'm packing the rain gear just the same. If we lose a day to rain, oh well. Now, if we lose the whole trip to rain... I'll probably have to break something with my hands.

They aren't sure what the weather will be like in 3 days, much less 4 weeks from now.

As for the weather... meterologists can't get tomorrow correct, sometimes they can't even get RIGHT NOW correct.
that said... since I'm taking i-40 from NV to TN, passing right through Tornado Alley, I'm more concerned about having to deal with tornados on the way than some rain.

Can anyone comment on how well the Caliber jacket stands up to the rain?

It won't stand up in the sun either! Actually it would be fine for light rain/drizzle etc but if we get the usual gully washer in the mountains I'd have to agree with Daisyjo and go with the Froggs.

My one-piece TourMaster suit got me through three days of 600 plus miles in the rain...

I have the Caliber Textile jacket from BRP. First year edition. Have ridden in the rain many times with it--no problems. I do not have the Caliber pants--I don't fit their long leg versions--so use First Gear for pants.
