Default NEED HELP! STUCK IN PARKING LOT WITH BRAKE STUCK AND BLOWN FUSE

I backed not a parking spot, set the brake on my 2012 RT Ltd. and shut it of as I have done numerous times. When I came out, got a parking brake failure warning and brake system warning and the parking brake is stuck on! Checked the #3 fuse and it was OK. Tried rocking the bike, but nothing. Cycled the key a few times and now it keeps blowing the #3 fuse. Does anyone have any ideas on what to try? Especially why it is blowing the fuse?

Sounds like a similar situation. You need tupperware off and some tools. In this case, it sounds like the Parking Brake motor shut down before the the brake was actually disengaged. This is the field fix, pending service at your dealer tech.

The fuse was fine until I cycled the key about 5 times. Now it appears to be a dead short somewhere..

And this is the end result. So much for my vacation riding. Dealer is closed tomorrow and the tech is off on Monday.

That is a real bummer for you. That is one more reason that I prefer the SM over the SE I almost never use the parking brake and if it fails it doesn't keep you from going on vacation. I hope they get if fixed for you quickly

Fuse #3? That's bad news and kills the cluster, TCM, and everything else off Main Relay #2, including the parking brake motor. The trip to the dealer is not fun, but it is certainly necessary. BUDS may be able to shed light on what started the problem. Sorry you had to be towed. Best of luck on a speedy repair.

Well, just got work on what the problem with the stuck parking brake and blown fuse issue is. Dealer says it is the WBM (windshield brake module). Says this module controls the motors on both the windshield and the parking brake and it is shorted out. Waiting for parts. I can't seem to find this part on any of the exploded diagrams. Anyone familiar with it or is this something that exists only in some mythical land??

The 2013 wiring diagram calls it a WPM (Windshield Parking Brake Module).

The module controls both the windshield motor and the parking brake actuator.
