Garage door opener
I know the "flash2pass" has been talked about on here but has anyone ever used the "tap2pass?" It pairs to your smartphone via blue tooth to open/close your garage door. I dont really want to tap into the electrical system if I dont have to. But, it seems to me that this would be a pain to pull your phone out, connect to blue tooth, open the program, punch in your pin, put your phone away and then ride into the garage. I might have just answered my own question

I just have a plain ole opener velcroed underneath the lip on my dash. Works fine.

We keep an opener in the glove box.

Yep. That's what I did.

Bought a key chain remote for the garage door... soldered a wire to the circuit board that leads to a momentary on/off switch I installed in the dash. Works great.

Mine is wired to a push button switch and mounted to the under the left speaker cover.

I agree. One small addition: I velcroe'd it to the vertical to keep it from rattling around all the time.
It's also easier to use if I know where it is.
In My Humble Opinion, simpler is best.
Not to disrespect any of the posters who have come up with more elegant solutions.
They are quite ingenious, and clearly a labor of love.
But what do you do when, in the fullness of time, you have to change the battery ?
As always, my free advice comes with a double your money back guarantee.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

I cut a hole in the gloveBox insulation, and stuck it in there...
It works slicker than sn... spit!
I'll try to pop a picture of it the next time I can move the bike... (Raining too hard right now...)
Would something like this work for the GS/RS pilots?

Garage door opener
I have mine wired to my horn. I pull into the driveway and if the door is closed I honk the horn twice. My wife then opens the door for me. :-),

That does sound like a good idea. I think I saw somewhere the rocker switches like the factory ones... now where did I see them?

I climb off the bike and hit the button on the garage.

HEY, I can do that without even climbing off! But I'm in a gated community where I have to then pull thru, stop, and wait again for the gate to close before proceeding on home (rules, see...). So I'd still like to have an opener so I wouldn't have to stop before entering. But it has to be a "learning" type, as the code is periodically changed. Any suggestions?
(My Buick has a built-in opener that works like this...)

Mine works well
I have had the flash 2 pass for a while now, and it is nice to have. Obviously a small garage door opener would work as well, but this seemed like an easy add-on, and was.

On my 09 GS I stuck it under the handle bars, beside the center hub with double sided tape. I had the 1 inch riser so I am not sure if it will fit without. It was the 3 button remote that came with the opener. Protected from the rain, rode through rain storm and did not harm it. Invisible to anyone that did not know it was there. No leaning or reaching to get to it.
