BSLF and the Spyder nickname
I'm a volunteer with the BSLF, Black Stallion Literacy Foundation, a project promoted by "ARABIAN KNIGHTS" in Kissimmee, FL. to get books into the hands of children. The Black Stallion was written by Walter Farley and is used in a lunch show for elementary school students. Kids get the book The Black Stallion free, sent to their schools by the foundation and then the school plans a field trip to "ARABIAN KNIGHTS" funded in part also by the foundation. After a day of education about horses, feed, tackle, etc., the day ends with a sack lunch and live show for the students by the actual dinner show performers that perform three shows a night for the paying public. After the lunch show, kids get to pet the Black, Little Black and Big Red, which are character horses in the series of books.
This is a big part of the reason I call my bike, "The Black"
P.S. Anyone coming to visit Orlando or lives in the area, really should come view the show. Well worth the investment!

I always liked Johnny Mac Brown but, when I was a kid, my favorite cowboy was Red Ryder played by Wild Bill Elliott and his sidekick Little Beaver played by Robert Blake.

I am trading in my RTS on a 2011 RTS. The old one was the "Hippo", the new one will be "Red Ryder".

Many of the old cartoons, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, Popeye, and so on can be seen on a channel called Boomerang. I believe it is part of the Cartoon Network, and we get it with Dish TV. I think it is pretty cool that my 8 year old son is able to watch the same shows I did as a kid, and actually thinks they are great as well.

the death machine, it was the guys I work with. I was a planetary menace and the death machine name just sort of came along with it.
you guys know that the camera guy died in the bullitt movie on the overshot corner scene. Also they were only allowed by permit to go 20 mph on those hills. An awsome scene and car movie.

My wife named both my rides. The Spyder is the " Metal Bitch" as in " Are you riding the bitch again , dear?". My Ninja 650 is the "Steel Slut".
Can't win either way-- I'm in trouble no matter what.
