After getting new - and very unbalanced - front tires, I'm considering "Shivering Billy" rather than the generic and unprintable name I use for all machinery...
Mine is "Il ragno puntura di scirpione". The first owner put that scorpion on the frunk, probably because it has the Akrapovic exhaust, RLS cat delete, 2nd stage ecu tune, air filter mod with K&N filter as well, and Pedal Commander.
I'm Italian, and the name means "Spyder with a scorpion sting."
I ran the Pedal Commander up in Sport+ and setting +4 ONLY ONCE: it is a monster. Eco for the wife, Street 0 for me.
Rode off on a HD Softail but came back home on the Spyder. Wife just happened to be outside near driveway so I stopped. Hands on hips rotating her head back and forth shes says... what the **** is that THING?

I’m thinking that’s a bit of a misnomer, at least as far as I’m concerned. My RTS is not a money pit, however I am with all of the farkles that I think that I NEED. Other than maintenance, my Spyder has not cost me anything. It’s actually great right out of the box....then comes MY farkles....I’ve GOTTA have that...this would look SO COOL.... and the list goes on. YES, the kenda tires need replacing, but that is part of maintaining your ride. just my opinion...others will think differently.
I have been called all sorts of names because I name my vehicles. Always a feminine name (So sue me, I am 70, I just don't care anymore).
In 2015 I ended up in Idaho in September and the morning I was to come home it was 28°. My 2011 Ultra Glide got me safely to Green River, Wy. When I went to put my feet down, my arthritic Kees were numb, and I couldn't hold the bike up. One of the guys riding with me was quick and saved me from falling. After Warming up some, I got home safe and the next morning I traded the Ultra for a TriGlide. When I got it home, I commenced to installing the goodies and when I got to the rear of the trike (guess I never looked at the back) I actually said out loud, "Dang Girl, you got a big butt!". From that moment on, she was named "Fat Bottom Girl".
After two Knee replacements (and a bankruptcy of my business) I got a 2014 Ultra Glide, she was black and made me feel naughty. Named her Harley Quinn. Guess I don't have a photo of the Harley Quinn Decal.
I tore up both shoulders working on swimming pool covers, so after having both repaired, I retired from work and riding.
Even though I missed being in the wind, pretty much gave up riding until a friend told me to try his Spyder. The thing was way different, but the steering was easy and effortless compared to a TriGlide. I was missing riding and hooked on the feeling the Spyder left me.
Ended up with a white 2019 Spyder F3. As I have always liked white vehicles, I had pretty much exhausted the "white names". When I retired from the Navy and took a job in Northbrook, Il. then moved to Grand Junction, Co. when my dad passed to try to save a failing business, "Cool Change" by Little River Band had become my favorite song and really expresses my lament at missing the sea. The song came up on Apple Radio right after I decided on the Spyder. It seemed like fate, so I named the Spyder "Cool Change". She was quite the change from Harleys and Gold Wings. If. I am being honest, I kind of miss the Harleys and Goldwings. But my Spyder certainly is a "Cool Change". And she is all I can handle.
Okay, so the point of this thread is to share if you name your ride, what the name is, and how it came to be.
Psssst ... it also may help convince me that I'm not crazy.

Our first Spyder was/is a 2013 RT Limited. They had a very bad rep and continue to. Not deserved in my opinion. Love it still. We never had issues. 400 miles when bought and over 20,000 on it now. A couple years ago I finally named "it". It is now known as "Evil '13". Had it painted on it as well. Evil '13 ended up in the shop this past July. While waiting we found a 2021 F3 Limited Liquid Titanium or GOLD color. We were going to look at upgrading next year but found this one with only 5000 miles. I immediately named it "Nugget". Sadly, Evil '13 is awaiting a front pulley bolt due to a shortage caused by the massive recall on newer Spyders. It will be for sale whenever it gets repaired.

I'm struggling to come up with a name for my 2023 Manta Green F3-S. Names for families vehicles historically just come out without much thought and they stick. Some examples:
My all red F150 Truck ~ "Clifford" (As in the Big Red Puppy")
My Yellow Celica is "Waldo" ~ It just came out one day and stuck
My Hyundai is ~"PB"; because my kids thought it was a "Poopy Brown" color; and the name stuck.
No name has come out for any of the Can-Am's of even my Kawasaki that I love to death. This perplexes me.
2023 Spyder F3-S, Manta Green
2023 Ryker 600 ACE, Black on Black (The wife's toy )
2020 Kawasaki Z900, Candy Plasma Blue

Keep thinking about it. The "right" name will eventually come to you. Been there and done that seven times since 2008.
All my various names are hidden in this thread, somewhere.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
