Default Looks great one stupid question

Great idea! Not being very good at elec. controls and printed circuit boards how did you know where to solder the wires? or is obvious when you take apart the opener? Thanks for sharing

    Default Garage door opener

Look at the picture of the board, will always be the last lugs on the circuit on that button. I've done this on a Genie opener as well, same principle.

Any momentary switch will do, I have a chrome one on my bike. Google momentary switch and look at the images to see the options available.

You would be better off by using stranded wire, because of the vibration. 16 or 18 guage would work fine.
