What do everybody think about having a Texas Spyder Rally?

I think it would be great, especially for riders like me who have not reached the point of taking 7 to 10 hour trips to another state(hopefully next year though for Spyder fest). The only catch would be finding a good neutral spot and a GOOD planning committee that has some ideal of what it will take to pull it off on a small budget. Bottom line is it can be great for the visitors but a lot of work for the organizers.

It could just start out as a one day event. I would think a location in the center of the state that has the most scenic roads would be a start and a committee with representative from different parts of the state.

Would be a long way to drive for one day or would this be a TX only event?

    Default yee hah!

Luchenbach or Mason or Llano or Marble Falls or Blanco or Garner State Park! I'm shooting for the memorial day deal in Houston, but still trying to decide if I'm brave enough for Houston Memorial Day Weekend Traffic! We'd make them vendors come from FAR away! if they would...

I will help put together a Texas Ride-in....I agree someone needs to have a meeting in a central location...I opt for F'burg's....to me it is fun to stay at hotel that is walking distance to town....evening walk and eat and a couple of adult beverages....at the end of town there is Super 8, Sunday House, Hampton Inn...all about 2 or 3 blocks from town.....

It's not central, but flamingobabe is hosting a BBQ over Memorial Day Weekend just south of Houston. Search for her post for details.

We went to Memorial Weekend BBQ and I must say flamingobabe & Hotglue have what we
need to have a Texas Rally. They already establish annual event in texas. We had Spyder rider from all over attending Missouri, Washington, Indiana, Louisiana. I am Sold

I agree with the keep it simple gathering. Pick a place, motel, what most want to do, No vendors, no hassles. Lets get together and enjoy the riding and meeting other riders. It does not need to be a big pain in the butt to do this. KISS!!!!!! Fredericksburg would be a great place to have a gathering. It has motels and everything else we want. Great area to ride, I ride there all the time, there are great small roads that are beautiful to ride.

Will be waiting for your plans and dates. I winter in Tx and will do my best to attend if its not in mid summer. Done that once. I agree with most that Fredericksburg would be a great location and March would be a great time frame. My 2 cents.
