Default What tunes are on your playlist?

While reading responses in another post I got to thinking about music while riding on the Spyder. I got a new (my 1st) Ipod for Christmas. Not my first music player, but my first Ipod. I asked for it because I could control the music selections from the Spyder's control pod and my other players only give me control of volume.

Anyway I started sorting through my 3000+ mp3 files and organizing a few play lists for the Ipod. I currently have 3 different playlists and about 1200 tunes on the Ipod. I created one I called "Bike Music". So far I have 208 files on that list. It includes lots of upbeat 60s & 70s Rock & Country.

What I am wondering is what tunes everyone else enjoys while riding. I'm sure the generation you grew up in has some bearing on your choices. ( I am also aware some of us haven't grown up yet, and some never will ).

So the big question is what are your top 5 or 10 favorite tunes you blast while riding ? I'll start. Here are my top 10 from my current "Bike Music" playlist:

    1. Magic Carpet Ride - Steppinwolf
    2. Roll On Down the Highway - BTO
    3. One Toke Over the Line - Brewer & Shipley
    4. Goin Up Country - Canned Heat Tied with On the Road Again - Willie Nelson
    5. American Pie - Don McLean
    6. Born To Be Wild - Steppinwolf
    7. This Magic Moment - Jay and the Americans
    8. Tell Her No - Zombies
    9. Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox - Joe Diffie
    10. Viva Las Vegas - Elvis Presley

Can my top 10 have 25 or 30 tunes? I sure could add more of my favorites.

Oh, this a hard one. I go back and forth between rock playlist, country, and gospel. My top ten rock is:
    1. Blaze of glory - Jon Bon Jovi
    2. Life's been good - Joe Walsh
    3. Seven Bridges road - Eagles
    4. Sweet home Alabama - Lynard Skynyrd
    5. Guitar Town - Steve Earle
    6. American pie - Don McLean
    7. Copperhead road - Steve Earle
    8. Have you ever seen the rain - CCR
    9. Who'll stop the rain - CCR
    10. Hotel California - Eagles

I have about 100 playlists on my ipod. Some have 20 songs some have 300. I have playlists titled: country, classic rock, pop, classical violin, motorcycle music ( this one has classic road songs and music from Sons of Anarchy), etc... I love that I can change playlists with the RT controls. Music and motorcycles go together. My top ten change every ride!

10 is never enough when I have over 7000 songs on my iPod, but here are 10 for today. Probably be different tomorrow.
    1. Where Ever I Roam - Metallica
    2. Country Roads - Ryan Bingham
    3. Car Wheels on a Gravel Road - Lucinda Williams
    4. Carl Perkins Cadillac - Drive By Truckers
    5. Who Would Love This Car But Me - Brian Setzer
    6. Baby Will Roam - Rusted Root
    7. Man in Motion - Warren Haynes
    8. Heading Out to the Highway - Judas Priest
    9. Fire's Highway - Japandroids
    10. Highway 55 - Horrorpops
Usually heavy on the Rockabilly and Irish Rock.

I'm seeing a lot of my standards on here. I always end up singing "Born to be Wild" at some point. I have been known to ride through the desert blasting "blaze of glory". And The Drive By Truckers and "Carl Perkins Cadillac" are on every playlist I have. In fact, I was listening to that song this morning. Great stuff!

I seldom listen to a playlist...I just let the iPod shuffle everything that is on it. Old folk and folk-rock, 50s & 60s oldies (especially hotrod and surf music), some jazz, some patriotic songs, some bluegrass, and plenty of R&B. I couldn't pick 10 favorites (or 25 or 30) if I tried. Nancy likes the girl groups from the 60s.

I don't have a playlist on my phone but I have everything from Avril Lavigne to George thourgood and Zac Brown to Lynard Skynard. It just depends on what mood i'm in. I can also just listen to the radio on my scala rider if I don't want any of that so I'm always good.

Lynryd Skynyrd... If they hadn't made that one-point landing in the swamp; I might have liked Country-Rock more... We had tickets to see them at the Spectrum in Philly when the news hit...
All of us thought about the same thing when they reported 3 fatalities; "I hope it's just the Lynettes..."

You get cars to back way off when you are dancing on the spyder, there are several of us who also dance on the spyder especially at stop lights.

Anything from this young lady ... the trumpet just comes across so crisply and cleanly on the spyder! Note, that she is just 13 in this video -- remarkable talent (IMHO)
