Default Issaqueena Falls & Stumphouse Tunnel

Yesterday is got up to 70 degrees so we traveled over to South Carolina to see the Stumphouse Tunnel and Issaqueena Falls. The tunnel was started in 1851 as part of the railway's plan to connect Charleston to Knoxville. Three tunnels through the mountains were planned and two were built but this one through the granite got too expensive as they hand chiseled their way at 200 feet per month. They ran out of money and then the civil war ended the idea after that. Good place to visit but any excuse to ride is worth it!
Penny and Rick have owned many motorcycles starting in 1974 with Honda’s, then to Suzukis, Gold Wings and ultimately Spyders.

Visited the Stumphouse Tunnel back in the early 1990's when I worked for Lockheed Aeromod in Greenville, SC. Pretty neat thing to see and visit.....a man made cave.
