...and I want a sneaker that's as black as OEM. I guess poor Ron just can't please everybody, no matter how hard he tries.
I'm looking into a rainbow striped bar... Maybe that will keep everyone happy!

I am not sure which way I will go on this one. I'm not sure what the demand would be and I believe that you can simply remove the powder coating and chrome away to your hearts content.

It has been pointed out to me that you can see a portion of the sway bar if you get just the right angle. I notice that you did correct your post Scotty and now I am correcting those posts to the contrary that I I have made as well.
It isn't easy to see but I suppose if it were Flamingo Pink (and who could possibly want that color? ) it might jump out at you more.
There are at least 2 schools of thought here. Some want to hide the fact that they've bolted up a performance advantage, and some want to flaunt the fact that the've spent some money on something that produces more than just bling.
I've already stated my feelings and reasons. I don't disagree with anyone's requests. It's just that I will have to pick a color and whatever it is, there will be those who are happy, and those who are dissappointed. And I hate to dissappoint anyone!

Ron, I think you should call up one of the unemployed replacement NFL Officials and let them make the color call. That way we can blame them if we are unhappy with their choice of color!
I respectfully disagree. After having two RT's and Elkas on both, the Elkas win out over the crap OEM shocks. They make a huge difference. Once you put on the Elkas, you may well decide that they are enough by themselves. If not, then add a sway bar.
You're right about the Elka's being a much superior product, though I wouldn't necessarily call the OEM shocks 'crap'. Just as a BMW or Ferrari are going to be much better than a Ford Escort, both vehicles serve a purpose and the Ford is going to cost you a lot less. You should be getting a much better product when you spend that much more for it.
The stock shocks are adequate for most riders and that is what BRP is shooting for. And to be fair, BRP has improved their stock shocks somewhat.
To put an Elka class shock on every production Spyder would not be a smart decision on BRP's part. The added cost would not be justifed.
Because the shocks and the sway bar accomplish 2 separate tasks and because they work together at the same time, it may be hard to quantify how much each contributes unless a person were to ride 2 identical RT's, one with just the sway bar mod and one with just the Elka mod.
I have certainly not done this and to date, I don't think anyone has.
Many people have been very happy with the Elka only upgrade. I feel confident that there will be many who are just as happy with the sway bar only upgrade. Which is better will have to wait for more feedback. But there is not doubt that to get the maximum beneifit, both systems must be improved.

Now here is a man with a fertile mind! I love it! But you realize we'd end up with black and white stipes. Now should they be vertical or horizontal?
Edited 10/1/2012 to add:
Today I rode the RT 70 mi on I-75 from Chattanooga to my dealer near Atlanta, wet & rainy all the way. This was the first time using the new bar riding on an Interstate Hwy. It was way to risky today to mess around much but during lane changes and encounters with semis & wind buffeting the RT seemed even more rock steady than before. Everyone that has upgraded to Elkas knows just how much more steady and safe the spyder is on Interstates but it seemed to feel even better today. I am getting really attached to this bar!
You're supposed to be finding things wrong with the bar!
Though I'm glad you're having a hard time in that respect...
I'll be happy with whatever color, although I will be happier with either the black, or a color/shade that dosen't clash with my Viper Red. I think that with so many colors of Spyders, the black is safer. JMHO
I am more interested in the performance than the color, and Jack's review sure makes me eager to get my hands on one. (Many thanks, Jack!) I really want to see how it does with my OEM shocks. I'd like to dial them back a notch or two on the preload. Cue Carly Simon's Anticipation...

Can't go wrong with black, performance increase is more important.
I knew that would come up again.... I have decided on the color but I don't want to say yet. I think I will just start shipping them out to customer who don't care what color they are and let it go at that. It can be a SURPRISE!
That way I'm not the one that has break the news.
For a guy that used to walk calmly into burning buildings for a living, I'm getting pretty wishy-washy!
I am still toying with the idea of a raw bar. But they aren't giving me much off on them so it won't save the customer much. Still, if you want to paint something that you can hardly see a certain color, that may be the way to go.
First things first, I need to get this train on the tracks. Then we'll talk about options.

Bob ought to qualify on that score. He voted for every color mentioned at least once...some twice.
The color will be what it will be. Just do us in order and take the flak. Only a few of us know where you live.

Strictly speaking; that's not true...
I didn't like Lime Green or Pink! Rainbow wasn't sitting too high on the list either!
I actually had gravitated to a color that would make the bar stand out a bit... Red, yellow or even orange would be cool.
But it is more about the ride than the appearance!
